As part of the 'big fit' that was held on here, I was suggested the NXT Tour and ProV1x.

The NXT Tours were certainly long and yet did not produce that horrible 'click' off my putter face that I really don't like. Putter is a Bettinardi BC3, so no soft inserts here. I didn't get much spin from the ball on the wedge shots, but that's probably more to do with technique than the ball!!

All in all I was quite impressed with the NXT Tour.

Until.

I tried the ProV1x. It had the length, and wasn't too 'spinny' off the tee. But at wedge distances it was awesome. Ball was stopping quickly and even with a small touch of backspin! Which is good if you're expecting it, but not when you're used to some roll out. It also did not make that nasty click off the putter.

Sadly though, they're now gone, and will either be found by some lucky person, or chopped up by a lawn mower!

TBH, I'd never have considered the Tour or V1x, as I didn't think I had the swing speed for them. But I can't help but think that Titliest got their marketing wrong with them. After all, how many others have given these a miss because of having the same thoughts as me?

If money were no object, I'd play the V1x all summer, but I can't justify it. Not at that price, and not when I loose a ball or two a round. However, if they were £20 a dozon, I'd use them, and I can't help but wonder how many more people would use them at that price?

So come on Titliest. Reduce your prices and you'd sell even more balls.

I couldn't agree more. The Pro-V1x is a superb ball, just too damn pricey.

I'd won £40 in an open the other week at another course so treated myself to a dozen. I shall be saving them for proper competitions and trying not to use them up too quickly.

I have to say that I used the old PTS solo for ages before trying the NXT Tour and now I am a changed man. Possibly it is the fact it stops better round the green more than anything else.
I have tried Pro V1 and x and have to say I really can't tell the difference - or at least not enough to justify the price difference.
Possibly you have to be a better player than me to notice the difference fully - or maybe I need to try the ProV1x for a longer period before passing judgement as I am afraid I lost the 2 given in the test very quickly - one of those rounds I am afraid!
One thing I will say is that you do need to use a ball consistantly through good and bad days to get a real feel for the ball and what it can do.
I think I will stick with the Tour for the time being.

P.S. was it just me or did almost everyone get reccomended the Pro V1x and NXT Tour? I know this was the same for me and nearly all my friends.
