Tiger rumoured to be buying ....

The last adidas quarterly results showed the improvements made, since last year. Not saying they have reached the peak they had a few years ago, but let's face it adidas are offloading as the profit is not the same as clothing and footwear, and TM is pulling down their overall ratings.

The improvement was minimal to say the least and is quite common in a declining business (golf or otherwise).

i hope TM continue manufacturing clubs but if they do we can all be pretty certain that it will be a lower profile operation with tighter budgets for promotions (fewer Tour pro's) and control on the number of product launches,

It is easy to get carried away with Tiger being involved

The days where the first 3 words you associated with Tiger were , winner, winner and winner are long gone, now the first three that pop into my head are, Injury, comeback, divorce

To golfers who have only taken golf up in lets say since 2010, they never watched Tiger win a major as golfers themeselves and they did not take up the game as Tiger won the year before his last major is only 32 months short of being a decade old.

I was a massive fan, always thought he was going to come back, sure he still does, but without him actually winning his association with a brand is hardly going to be huge (Remember these brands pump millions into marketing their WINS) watching Tiger fail to deliver has become tiresome, he would not encourage me to buy a club if i was a young or new golfer, i would be looking at recent winners to see what the winners use.

When I watched Nick Faldo winning the U.S. MASTERS in 89, i did not look back 7 years to see what that winner used (Craig Stadler btw) 3 years Earlier Nicklaus won his last major obviously, i can tell you i did not know this at the time, i ONLY wanted to know what NICK was playing

Really? For all TM's shortcoming I don't think you can argue they don't make some great clubs, how many Nike clubs live long in the memory in the same way the R510, R7, Burner 07, SF Tp, and now the M1 line have been received plus numerous others?

Just my opinion buy I would take the covert or vapor range over any taylormade woods every day of the week iron wise the nike tour, vr tour blades or even the vapor pros are better than any taylormade iron ball wise the rzn tours are fantastic but just my opinion

I'm with you on this one. Nike make better clubs. They just do. I still play a vapor pro driver, 5 wood and hybrid.

But Nike equipment isn't up for sale. Nike just shut it down, it was their ball.

TM is up for sale.

No idea on the rumour, guess Eldrick has plenty of cash and could fancy being part of a team to buy, maybe bring some people he worked with in.

Taylor made is up for sale but there is no way Tiger would go near it, I know Nike golf was just closed and not sold but it would have made more sense to have taken it on licence or employed the r and d and building teams and created Tiger golf.

Either way he would have to be crazy to take something like that on.

Whikst o don't think he will.

What makes you so confident?
if he thinks he can make a profit and run it well I'm sure he'd give it a go. His foundation is flying and he's still a big eniugh name to get a buzz behind him.

I just don't see what owning Taylor made would give him its a falling giant that has been floundering for a few years why would he risk his reputation and money, on top of that he has no link to them he has spent his career so far promoting their opposition.

It just doesn't feel right

When you put it like that it sounds like a perfect match ;)
