Tiger and Foley part ways

Butch has Mickelson who hasn't won this year, and only 2 wins last year (yes one was a major), and only 1 win the year before that. He also has Rickie Fowler who has never won..... going back to Butch would be a BIG mistake in my opinion,... not that I really care what he does.
There's more to winning than just having a solid swing. Butch had huge success with Tiger in the early days so I don't see why it would necessarily be a mistake to go back to him now but the question would be if older, injury prone Tiger can still play in the way Butch would teach him.

I don't know if "Go out there and do what you do best young man" will really sway it for Tiger nowadays.

I saw an interview with Faldo & Nobilo at the Open. Faldo talked about after Tiger had a break from Haney, he apparently just did some self analysis and came back and won several tournaments on the spin.

Perhaps he'd be better off just getting out there and doing it?

Simple to me. Who was your coach in 2000 when you were the best golfer in the world -probably the best the world has ever seen? Butch? Then go back to him. You are not going to improve on that.
I know that Butch points out where he thinks Tiger is going wrong, but to be fair he gives a coaches insight into most players in the spotlight. I have never heard him be disrespectful about Tiger's other coaches and in many ways, through his work with Sky he has often found himself in a difficult situation.

I think he'd do ok with butch and I'm pretty sure butch would have him back.
however I do think his putting is not what it used to be and I doubt he will ever be able to get that aspect of his game back to the unbelievable standard it used to be. And as many have said before if only he could stand on the tee and hit his practice swing instead of totally trying to cane everything and losing his shape.

I think Butch would be great for Tiger. They seem to have a mutual respect still, which I think is important.

Butch doesn't seem to have a fixed method, like Foley, and others. He seems to work around what you have to make the best of it which is what I think Woods needs now.

Just look at the players in his stable. Michelson, Johnson, Folwer, Gulbis, all have very different swings.

The question is really would Butch have the time, or want to make the time, to fit Tiger in around all his other players ? Tiger seems to demand special attention.
