This website should be called Ticketdisaster, went on at 9am to get ticket tickets for Take That and surpise surprise there website had crashed, now how many times does this happen ,its annoying ,anyway when i went back on heehaw left no surprise there.

Tried there sister site GetMeIn (or RobMeBlind) at just after 9 and they were selling tickets for over double the money,i wonder how many tickets actually go on sale to the public thru Ticketdisaster before they put them on that other site.

Anyway rant over.

My wife and her mates got theirs at about 4pm today, shame they have to go to cardiff.

They put 9/7/11 on sale at around 5.30 for wembley, I went onto stargreen and bought a pair of tickets no problems.

Pairs are making in excess of £500 currently. Mine are on ebay as I bought these to sell and cover the wifes expenses for the 2-day excursion to the land of the sheep-tamperers.

I have however allocated a percentage of the sale price to charidee as I do think that if I profit from this, it is good karma that a charity does too.

Also, go to ticketmaster.de (german site) same tickets on sale with much shorter waits.

My girlfriend decided not to even try for the tickets this time. Pretty glad as last time I ended up only being able to get them for the Rotterdam gig, so that cost a bit.

Not too happy about people who bought them just to flog on eBay though. Saw a pair for £7000 last night. Very commendable of you Jon for making a donation to charity but I'm guessing that's just out of guilt at becoming a ticket tout.

Definately not feeling guilty.

At the end of the day it is a commodity to sell.

It is no different to me buying a car at trade price and then retailing it in my eyes.

Not something I am intending on doing regularly mind this ticket-flogging thing and it has only been done to offset mrs jons expenses.

I know a guy who has purchased around 30 tickets simply to re-sell.

Whatever happened to queueing up outside the venue? I remember waiting in line outside the Hammy Odean for Quo tickets in the freezing cold. All sold within 2 hours to those who were there.
None of this interwebby thing back then......

We'll agree to disagree on that one then Jon. You're just taking money out other people's pockets and behaviour like yours is one of the reasons it cost me a bomb to take my girlfriend to see them for her 40th.

I just disagree with touts making tickets dearer for the real fans who want to go. At the end of the day I wouldn't be happy if someone bought up all the Open Championship tickets and it cost me a fortune to go to see my heroes. As you say though, Jon, I guess they're just commodities, eh?

Now, whilst we're on the subject, benefit cheats.........same principle. Other people who cost me more.

Funnily enough I had to pay £150 per ticket for faithless a few years ago so I have been on both sides of touting.

FWIW, for spurs, I allow mates to use my membership when I dont go and when roman was born this year, my chelski and goon tickets were going spare. They both went to mates for face value when I could have got £300 a ticket.

I am with Jon on this.....made an absolute packet on 4 Oasis tickets last year (or was it the year before?) and it paid for my golf trip.

If folk are willing to pay stupid prices then that is up to them...personally I wouldn't although I have paid 70Euros for a 35 Euro ticket to see Scotland in Amsterdam...now who mentioned stupid folk???!! ;)

The prices of tickets are rediculous as it is. They may be a commodity but if you read the blurb on the back it is against their policies and if a ticket is suspected to have beens sold by a tout, the holder can be refused admission.
To be honest, i'd rather not go than line someone elses pockets who has done nothing to deserve the extra money. It does nothing for their reputation and karma always has a way of kicking them in the balls sooner or later.

Also, if there is nothing wrong with doing this, then why do Glastonbury and a couple of other bigger venues insist on only being able to buy two tickets at a time, photograph of holder and name/address?

To be honest not into paying stupid prices to see them, saw them at Hampden last time and were superb, tried for Wembely ,Croke Park Dublin and no joy not to worry.

I've got a mate who has Man Utd season tickets and he charges ridiculous prices, for the tickets he wanted £200 for me and my youngest to go to the Arsenal came last season, needles to sat he was told to F off,and the rest of the guys pummled him with abuse about being a robbing barsteward.

I suppose its supply and demand and if people are that deperate well on they go,not me i'm afraid.

Let's face it. These people are out of control.
They have a monopoly on the market and have now "allowed" a related site exist to increase their profit as well.
There is no answer to it all.
Given everything I know from stories and personal experience, I don't know why they just don't auction all the best tickets, make squillions of quid and stop trying to pretending to be anything other than a bunch of profit-mongering gits.

I wanted tickets for the NIA and didn't want to use a credit card, as I was working 5 minutes from the venue. I went down with cash 3 times before the office was open. This particular venue opens the box office an hour before an event and at no other time. They just tell you to use the online service.....I wonder why?

I agree, I have just bought a few bits for the wrx on ebay there, saw a few other nice parts too but for the price, as much of a bargain as they were, id rather buy locally and buy genuine.

Fwiw. And and the risk of upsetting someone. Buying tickets with the sole aim of flogging them on, regardless if it's for charity, is bollocks.

Supply and demand. Crap. It's profiteering in it's most elementary form. If you weren't on the phone buying tickets, a genuine punter could have been.

It's capitalism at it's ugliest.

Though tbh, I'm fed up with friends of mine moaning that they've spent all day trying to get tickets for this particular gig, and are willing to pay whatever is required to get there.

Obtaining tickets for the sole purpose of selling them on happens, and even did in the good ole days before t'web. They just happened to get up earlier than the next man.

I think I just shot my own argument down in flames. Ah well. Maybe it's a moral question rather than a legal one.

But all this fuss over Take That. Geesh. Only one of them has any musical talent, and two can sing a little. But maybe I'm biased. We had them perform at the night club I was a manager at just as their first single hit the charts. Only one of them cared about music. The rest just wanted to get laid.

Sorry if gone too far. Had some really bad news today.
