How did you get on.

I have 2 x 15g in mine but fancy a change however I’m not sure whether or not to go up or down in weight?

Any help appreciated

I have just put a 20g counterweight in my putter shaft.
Cleveland Huntingdon beach #8 it was a little light.
It’s made a big difference to my long putting I seem to get it rolling much better.
Short putting hard to tell but the greens are not the best atm.

I tinkered with the weights (washers basically) in mine a little bit just after I got it - at the time there was some thought that you should increase the weights in winter, because the greens were slower and so you could hit it the same as in summer.

Decided that was a load of horsepoo very quickly for me. Just another thing to mess with your head and give you reasons to change things about so you might become a better putter.

I am pretty grateful that I found a putter that suited me so long ago.

I don't even know where the weights for my (still current) Ram Zebra are now - must be 25 years ago since I put them somewhere! :D

Does a counter balance weight in the shaft not make the head feel lighter?

I switched from a very heavy Cure putter to the Scotty I have now. I put heavier weights in & this helped me just let the putter swing instead of me swinging it, if you see what I mean. I tend to pull a lot of putts so I have more weight in the toe than the heel. I kid myself that it helps. When I use one of my other two putters they feel much lighter & I think they may work better on quicker greens.

Had an Odyssey tank as I wanted a heavier putter without playing with weights. A disaster and moved on very quickly. I think if you have a putter that you are using and happy with the weight its the start of a slippery slope to tinker. If you start missing was it you? Was it the different weight? Too heavy? Too Light? Adds to many questions and variables and I advice to think carefully

I have different weighted putters every week, can't say I notice any difference in my putting results.

Just switch the weights around until it feels good, and don't be afraid to switch them again if you feel like it.

I've tinkered with the weight in my 2-ball and I occasionally swap my putters around. It doesn't make any discernible difference to my own putting performance.
I have concluded there are good days/weeks/months with any putter and the most active variable is between my ears rather than screwed into the club.
I own a very light, thin bladed relic that I occasionally use as a resetting tool because you really have to think when you use it.

I used to replace the two 10g weights with 15g in the early and late season when the greens were not as fast as they are in the middle of summer, it didn't really make much difference to my game, too much overthinking I believe.

If you're leaving your putts short, more weight might help.

If you're hitting your putts too long, less weight might help.

If you're missing all your putts left, more weight in the toe than the heel might help. If you're missing them right, other way around.

If you're putting well then leave it the hell alone. 😁

i changed form light to heavier weights in my TM Spider putter head. Bought then for very little on ebay, just to tinker and ended up very happy with the heavier weight!

I use additional weighting down inside the shaft (Tour Lock Pro) combined with a butt counter weight as I prefer a heavier static weight putter (helps smooth out the stroke) but dont want to feel as though the putter is extremely head weighted and thus difficult to get moving at the start of the stroke. If I remember correctly the shaft weight is 75g and the counter weight is 50g.

In the old days I used to achieve this by filling the shaft with sand (effectively adding weight along the entire length of the shaft) and plugging it with a bit of cotton wool. An alternative approach would have been to replace the shaft with a specialist heavy putter shaft from the likes of Nippon who made several different weight putter shafts.

The heavier the head the further the ball rolls with the same stroke

I have a Never Compromise Exchange 2 which has weight ports either side of the head on the underside of the putter.

It has 2 holes for the weights on either side and came with 2x 5,10 and 15 gram weights and the heavy metal plates that hold them in place can also be left off.

My main use of the weights is to change the weight of the head to suit the speed of the greens. In this way I do not change my stroke to suit the speed of the greens.

Works well when you have consistent speed greens but not always on a round to round basis.

I actually have 2 of the putters set to different weights so sometimes I simply change putter.

I did an analysis of all my putters on a swing weight basis, as well as overall weight. I ranked putters based on what I liked and how successful I was with them.. wholly subjective but confirmed by objective measurements (who knew there would be such a correlation 🤫)
I have then used counter balance weights to get putters into the same swing weight area..
So on fast greens I like the del mar, the madison or Donna or slow greens and then the spider on average … but I am not convinced about the spider as I think I prefer non insert putters as well .. but this may be also random green ironing which screws up everything..
So now I am looking for a non insert medium weight putter face balance to slight toe hang .. which means I need to build a shelf for all the 2nd hand putters I intend to acquire and a set of ear plugs to save my ears from my wife’s freely offered opinions.

I Had an Odyssey Rossi white hot OG 21, at first I was not too fond of it was too light, so I put a 75g super stroke counterweight in it, and from then my putter average went from 35.75 down to 32.23

even though my putting was going well, I decided I wanted a change and switched to a blade, a TP Soton, it's perfectly weighted and I'm putting as good as I ever was. I recently had my lowest putting round of 28. so I think I found the perfect weight/style for my putting.

I had an odyssey 2ball putter 10 years ago and had 3 weights supplied with it. I played around with them and the middle weight felt best. I then had a jumbo grip fitted. Immediately after fitting the club felt like it was wandering around in the breeze. I put in the heavier weight in and it felt it was back to what I was used to.
