knows when to bite you doesn't it?

Medal today and the front 9 was tremendously average. +6 including a lost ball. And not really striking the ball well.

Must have given myself a talking to as I then got to the 16th level par for the back 9 so still +6 and looking at a possible cut! Hitting greens and playing well.

Cue 3 3 putts in the last 3 holes. AARRGGHH!!!
Admittedly the one on the last was in 3 putt territory but the others were poor.
Still came in nett par but so nearly another cut.

CVG started 8,2 and still managed to make the buffer although his putting went West on the way home.

It's always nice to play to a new handicap and I did just that. But if I add in the lip-out on the 1st, the gravity-defying putt on the 3rd and the 3 putts I could have had another 74 like last time and another nice cut. Oh well - just got to keep plugging away at it.

It just goes to show, that whatever our ability is, we're never happy with it and want to do better.

I guess that is what keeps us plugging away at it. And why some give up realising that they'll never get to the level that they expect.

Oh yes. It's a frustrating game.

One question though Imurg. Did you enjoy the round?

I think you started to think about it too much.

Trying to force a score can be bad. Concentrate on the shot in hand and stay in the moment. I suffer very badly from getting ahead of myself at times. I have to really force myself to play one shot at a time.

The man speaks the truth. Great point Craw - so easy to get ahead of yourself and think "par the next two gives me xx and forget about the hole and the shot you've got next.

No sympathy. My next game will be Cooden on Friday, the one after that will be Beau Desert. By Cooden, I won't have played for 6 weeks. At least you are playing. Even if not well.

I'm the opposite, I thrive on the pressure. Nothing better than standing over a clutch putt, that's why I play the game.
