Anybody ever have trouble with this?

Not as in all the time, just under pressure.

It used to be a pull, now it's a thin. I know why, it's 'cause I get too forward with everything into the ball.

Anybody found a temporary fix for this, or even the pulled shot?

It happens to me when I hang back and try to help the ball into the air.

Ohh, that sounds bad...the opposite of me then! :)

I'm wondering if I can take some sort of drastic measure for these pressure shots to take out the variable bottom of the arc....like a super-narrow stance.

I recently had a lesson and we worked on a more pro type of impact and the results are amazing. Looking through Utube, the following clip shows pretty much what I am doing now, and day to day, shot by shot its the best I've ever struck a ball. I now am hitting a club stronger, I get draw and a lower trajectory and taking a divot (which is new to me). The swing is a better tempo and easier to do.

It's well worth a go.

Sometimes happens to me when I'm trying to force the short irons, quite easy to come out of the shot and not hit down on it enough.

I don't full on thin them much now, but I often get one that squirts out a bit low, especially with wedges, and I think it's because I'm shifting too much towards the target.

Thinking about keeping my head behind the ball helps, as does practising with something under the outside of my left foot.

Do you have a "plan" to avoid it? or is it just too rare?

Make sure I have enough club so I'm not trying to hit it too hard and feel as though I'm compressing the ball and making a divot. I do struggle with a thinned short iron and pulls/hooks with them. I have quite an in to out swing Kuchar style which probably doesn't help.

The professional impact U Tube video is good. You could also try this.
Take a narrow stance, parallel to target line. Put the ball a clubhead inside your left heel, but because you have a narrow stance it should be just inside your right toe. Set the club behind the ball then rest the shaft on your inside left thigh. Take your grip in this position. You have now set the club and ball in a position where you will get a descending strike into the back of it.
Try a few firm wristed half shots from here and just return the club to the set position. You'll soon get the idea. Descend on the ball, the ball will climb and spin with control.
Hope I have explained this ok and it helps.:)

I used to thin a few only under pressure also. I had a "normal" stance but feet closer together. We changed that to both my feet facing more towards my target at almost a 45 degree angle and since then I don't thin any!

TBH I don't know how it works or whether it was psychological but it worked for me!

Everyone always comments on my short game & chipping ;)
