Things That Gladden The Heart

28 ends. We had a lot of measuring by the marker, and a couple were mega close requiring the umpire to come on. I’ve had a singles match take less than an hour and only 11 ends. Today was my longest, and probably the second hardest match I’ve played in.
Like I said, mentally draining.
Well done 👍

So, Mother's Day tomorrow.
Both of our kids come around this evening with the grandkids as they have their own Mother's Day treats tmw.
So, my wife lays on a "little spread" for them and, of course, it ends up with them having goody bags of food when they leave, as always.
Happily watched a Wales victory with a few drinks and had a nice few hours.
They leave, we do washing up for all, as always.
Then, in the kitchen I see her two Mother's Day beautiful bouquets which will last quite a time.
I look at my wife and say "Seriously?" and she says "I know".
Monday afternoon we fly to Tenerife for ten days 🙄
Both in their 40's but ya gotta luv em 😅
If it helps mate I can help out with this?
Rather than just chucking them away if you let me know the airport and time I can see if I can take the tickets off your hand.

No need to thank me, your welcome 😉

24° from Monday.
2€ a beer.
I'll pass but your offer is much appreciated (pffft!)
😉

Well after 18 weeks of not working, that’s me sitting in the airport and going to work in the USA.
Looking forward to the new challenges ahead, turned down a lot of jobs before taking this one, hopefully the right decision 😬😬😂😂
Good luck mate, onshore or offshore?

Played my first representative match, bowling, for the province this morning against a guy who was expected to win. First to 21 shots. At 16-10 down it wasn’t looking great. Form there I slowly clawed my way back into the match. The marker(scorer) needed to get a second score card as we traded ‘blows.’

Finally, we shook hands on a 18-21 win to me, 3 hours after the game started… #wrecked’R’us… Not so good in the afternoon match but looking forward to tomorrow’s matches. So proud for our small club, who had 3 players on the green.

Second singles match today. When my opponent walked to the green my heart sank. The guy has a phenomenal reputation, and had had a tremendous weekend. One hour and ten minutes later we shook hands on a 21-6 win to me.

To cap the weekend, we won the inter-provincial…

9 holes closed today as Greens Maintenance continues so played those done the day before & well pleased that this year it a 'micro-tine" that recovers in a fraction of the time of ' coreing'
Well pleased!!

Is that not just for improving drainage.

We often microtine and/or sand but hollow core just once in a year (normally in August).

So it’s fair to say young Bradley Tash has had his difficulties at comp School. So much so he is going to a
New comp school Within the next couple Of weeks. Most of the problems Come Down to bullying. The physical side he can take care of and has leathered a couple of kids whilst sticking up for himself. The mental side of bullying he struggles with. The sticks and stones saying don’t resonate with him.
So why the “ Gladden the heart bit” he is now in the swimming pool Mentoring another kid who has a disability. It is a new Kid as his regular mate he Mentors Is not here. They are getting on like a House on Fire. He is loving it.
Dead proud of him.

First night in Tenerife. Sat at a pavement bar when a local lady gestured to sit at our table and spoke to us in ..... Spanish!
With the aid of Google we worked out our ages, names, where she lived (local) and, slowly but surely, had a nice chat and then her friend joined her. As we left I managed, heavily, to say "Ha sido un placer conocerlos a ambos" (Google it).
They were delighted at the effort.
Lovely stuff in worrying times.
