Things That Gladden The Heart

I’m Assuming you mean did I take the photos 🤣

The answer is yes I did, got so many already this week and will have more to come in the next few months instructing out here. It’s truly a phenomenal place to work.
Excellent.
We were once totally blacked out in a Safari Lodge in Tanzania and, on going to the loo, I looked out to the the most wondrous star laden sky you could ever experience. I woke my wife to say "You have to see this!"
In the internal blackout I couldn't find my camera (and doubted I could adjust an SLR properly). So we just looked at in awe.
A fabulous memory.
One that you managed to capture.

If she can carry 45kg, whilst covering miles in snow shoes and is happy to not wash for a week and sleep in a tent with a load of smelly blokes I might know the best person to book through 😂😂
She can push a 45 kg, trolley through ASDA for Xmas shopping in doc martins, I don’t wash for a week. And she don’t do tents. However sleeping with a load of smelly blokes sounds right up her street. 😖
For gods sake don’t tell her I said that. 🫣

Finished assembling a couple of small sideboards for our front room alcoves - one for our small front room TV to sit on…the other for my turntable. And in the cupboard of both…plenty of room for my vinyl…currently mostly in the loft. Or so I thought. I’ve just been up there and…I don’t think they’ll all fit. I’m going to have to do a bit (lot) of filtering.

All my classical, folk, Scottish Dance Band and ‘not listened to for years’ oddities and bits and pieces will have to go in a cupboard upstairs. Even then I suspect that won’t be enough…I’ll have to thin out further. Methinks all my Neil Diamond, Carpenters, Now X (and suchlike compilations) will be in that cupboard also. As will duplicates. I’m rubbish at getting rid of vinyl…convinced that anything…no matter what…could one day have my interest or value.

BTW…Just in case anyone was wondering…No.I’ve never actually bought a Neil Diamond or Carpenters album…I’ve just acquired a good dozen or so.

And then there’s my Barbra Streisand Love Songs album…but you know what 🥰

Like being a child of the 60's with Beatles, Stones, Kinks, Beach Boys, Byrds and so on but having Perry Como, Andy Williams and Frank tucked away because I learned to love music from Mum and Dad😎

Thursday night went to a show in Monmouth 40+ miles away. 400yds from theatre is a Wetherspoons Hotel.
I've used them before and rooms have always been good, as was this one.
Nice enough pub and here's the heartwarmer:
6 Real Ales on offer.
1 @ £1.89
4 @ £2.10
1 @ £2.39
Tried an Abbot Ale beforehand and, the expensive Jaipur after the show.
Both were delicious.

Lost my watch on the course last Sunday. Not expensive or any sentimental value to it. It’s a £70 Seiko automatic that I use for work. Went up the club today for the 1st time since last Sunday and there it was sat on the desk in the pro shop😁.

Weston Super Mare going through to the 3rd round FA Cup

My dad was a season ticket holder going every week with my nephew who plays for their under 18’s - he would have been proud
It’s Weston super Mare, as my mum (who was brought up there) insists on telling everyone who gets it wrong 🤣
