Things That Gladden The Heart

The shining example of having courage through faith to speak truth to power.

It can be a very difficult thing to do to speak the truth or do something you really don’t want to do for fear of retribution, personal cost or failure…but if you know it is the right thing to do, or perhaps that they are the right words to say and it is the right time, then for those of us so inclined our faith can give us the courage - that it’ll be ok.

My heart was not just gladdened, it sang.

Note to mods…this is an observation on an example of what, for those of faith, having courage from that faith can help us do.

Got a mortgage balance letter through yesterday, I sort of forgot we are locked in at a super low rate until November 2026. We were sooo lucky we fixed for 5 years just before it all went tats up :p
Wow thee hours and I'm the first to comment. This isn't "tats up". Have a look back, we had this discussion over an evening meal the other night, some of us were paying 15%. Now THAT'S "TATS UP"! Allmost all our money wen't on paying the mortgage. We lived on Tesco Value bread and Tesco value beans, well Tesco Value everything actually!!!!!!

Wife didn't want to commit to a 10 year fix when I came out with it in 2018 because she was used to her parents doing every 2 years, paying a chunk etc. I just like stability. Low risk. Fortunately it's turned out to be a very shrewd move. Yay for boring.

Are you allowed to overpay?
If so, I presume you're paying off as much as you can possibly manage while the interest rate is nice and low?

My wife bought some chews for our dog, 'good for her teeth' was the comment. The dog likes them and there were about 15 in the pack. All good except they smell partly fishy, partly of poo. They are horrible. My wife wouldn't let me throw them out, see above, but finally the dog has had the last one 🥳.

My wife has promised that she won't buy more, I will chuck them if she does, so this should be the end of it. It's a good day 👍

Kim Wilde. Looking bloody great at 64 without all the work and fake looking rubbish. Looks stunning.
I'm glad you said that and not me.
I made a similar comment about Nena (similar age) and had a lot of mickey-taking, "Steady on old chap" etc

Kim is doing a few UK dates in March and several more in Germany in November, I believe.

I really loved her energy too. In a rather sad and depressing day with stories of the Holocaust she managed to lift the mood.
