Things That Gladden The Heart

Look at the joy on her face! Does she catch up at some stage in terms of development?
That was looking at her daddy but she is such a smiler and very happy. Oddly, they count them as corrected age until two and then it stops. Her team are all really happy with how she is doing so I think she will catch up. Oh, and she's also had two teeth come through.

Lucky Daddy :-) So good to hear she's doing so well. What a fighter.

On Friday my carer and I flew to Cyprus just for the weekend for the 60th birthday party of my best mate in the world.

He has just retired from the RAF and is coming back at the end of the month.

He had no idea we were coming, his wife and I arranged it with much subterfuge over the last 3 months.

The look of total surprise on his face, when we knocked on his front door with a bottle of Penderyn Faraday Welsh whisky 🥃 was an absolute picture and 100% worth the trip.
😎

Another bowls trophy today.
Been playing rubbish so quite a surprise (y)

Two days later a bigger surprise.
The club secretary made an error in totting up the round robin scores and the couple we beat in the final should not have qualified .
We now have another pair to play in a 5 end final.

MrsA and my 25th anniversary today. Took annual leave to spend the day doing proper middle-aged stuff - garden centre to buy ourselves a nice garden bench seat, cheese toastie lunch followed by a walk in the countryside then I hit the driving range while she took an online Pilates class.
Homemade chicken tikka masala with pilau rice and naan for dinner, washed down with rosé sham-pagne - a gift that I thought would be 💩💩 but is actually pretty good.
Now I'm watching The Hundred while she does the washing up (I'm the cook).
Good times!

Can’t remember the last time Mrs H did any cooking, although she put together a wicked salad tonight.
