Semi-final tomorrow @ 10:00am. Sooo close, and so close to Australia. Two wins away from an invite to represent Spain in the Champion of Champions tournament down under… dare we dream?

Looked in the window as it was packed. Great smell coming out of there. Will get booked for later on.

Had a look a the golf course... looks interesting. But I wish I'd played cricket on that ground!

We're staying a couple of miles up the coast.

That cricket ground is fabulous. Next up to enjoy, cricket ground, is Warkworth. If you drive through there, that is also by the castle. Not a tough spot 😄

Sometimes you’re just not good enough. Comfortably through the semi’s but the pedigree of the other finalist was just too good. I had a shot on the 17th end to take it to sudden death but missed. It’s been a fabulous experience and one I hope to replicate next year.

The good news was our captain opened up the club to all those wanting to come back… I may have imbibed…

The 600mile return trip Sheffield to Perth yesterday in glorious weather…a beautiful drive…to Scotch Corner across to Penrith and all points north to Perth.

Good question… a number of the Spanish team didn’t get out of the group stages, it was that tough, often beaten by other Spanish squad players(and me)… a number of regional(county level in the U.K.) didn’t get out of the group stages.

So what’s my pedigree in the last 6 years since I took up bowling?

Club champion 3 of the last 4 years. Gents champion twice. 2 wood champion twice. Handicap champion, playing off a low handicap, twice. Multiple, multiple team wins.

Turned down the chance to play for the region several times, but in reality the first few times it was too soon. Am I good enough now? That’s for other people to decide but I still make errors of judgement. I might be good enough for sub…

The only way you will know is if you give it a go and you may well surprise yourself
