Things That Gladden The Heart

watched Layla Tashys sports day last year, and I use the term sports day very very loosely. Bottom line it is rammel. But the parents race sweet lord. It is uber competitive.
Watched my grankids sports day last year.
One of the little lads couldn't walk without his specialised frame.
He entered the long jump.
He stood at the lip of the sand pit and, deliberately, just fell forward into the sand.
The cheers and applause from both children and parents was deafening!
That was truly heartwarming and a beautiful memory for the boy and his proud parents 😊

I mentioned the other day about making memories with the kids. Last week when we were in Majorca. Young Bradley Tash got very close to a kid called Oscar from France. He had Down’s syndrome. He was a lovely kid. Young Bradley got very protective of Oscar as a few kids were picking on him. Most evenings Bradley was very inquisitive about Oscar and his condition and asking loads of questions. Most of which Missis Tash explained. He was very caring and understanding about Oscar. I saw another side to Young Bradley that week. Another kid called Noah from
Northumberland roared his eyes out when he said goodbye to Bradley.

A few years after Runrig retired their tribute band sells out the 2000 seater Royal Concert Hall in Glasgow. (y)

Always a Winner by Runrig
An excellent band that should have had more success. I am a big fan of some of these tribute bands, especially in my case Stillmarillion which do the Fish era Marillion stuff and do it brilliantly so much so that Mark Kelly (keyboards) and Steve Rohery (guitar) have joined them on stage

Saturday, I was a volunteer scorekeeper for a youth Trap Shooting competition.
150+ kids in attendance.
Maybe it's not a dying sport as a lot claim it to be.

I'm in Fuerteventura with my kids and grandkids.
Last night was "silent disco" night.
I'm watching kids on the dance floor getting slowly taken over by Grandads and Grannies who are totally transformed once they put on head sets and are not just "Dad dancing" but trying to do "moves" with their arms and hands.
"How embarrasing", (but funny), I thought with my headset on the table in front of me.
Then, as my grandkids take a drinks break, I slip my headset on to find its a "techno/club?" version of "500 miles".
Cue Grampy punching the air with "Da da da da, da da da da" and grandkids, with headsets off, snorting drinks down their nostrils laughing hysterically as my wife is gesturing at me wildly to stop.
My logic is always "I've never seen these people before, I'll never see them again so... what the...."

I love those Drumeo videos. I find it so amazing when they legitimately haven't heard the incredibly popular song they're presented with. 😂
I know what you mean. But I have to say that when they did the "this is what the original sounds like" bit at end, it was the first time I had ever listened to a TS song. I wasn't expecting a symphonic masterpiece but I was shocked at quite how bland it was! :ROFLMAO: But I'm not the target audience so that's fine.

Some of the quotes he came out with were amazing.
"It doesn't even change key or anything, it's just an onslaught of verses and choruses"
"We got a talk solo, what world are we living in?"

Definitely a guy who doesn't do pop music. 😂

Tom Kerridge

Been lucky enough to have eaten in a couple of his places and the food is amazing

Listening to him on the radio earlier and you can tell why he such a likeable bloke and has done so well for himself

At his Butcher Tap and Grills in Marlow and Chelsea - he had asked other chefs and sports stars to create a burger and whenever someone buys one he donates a £1 to their nominated charity

He asked Darren Bent and Goldstein to create one each and it’s the same deal - he will also match the amount

Also highly recommend going to any of his establishments - the food is amazing and also well priced
