Wow are they nesting near you?
Saw them at a place near Blairgowrie years ago and they were majestic.
There's actually quite a few about, but the nests are all watched by the RSPB and Nature Scotland because of the risk of egg hunters. Seen one along the course a few times, but best places to see them are Loch Garten and Bonar Bridge. There used to be a nest right next to the Dornoch junction on the A9, but it was too obvious once forestry had taken most of the trees. I think RSPB moved it?

I think it was Loch Of The Lowes where we saw them.
To digress slightly, our hotel was next to Blairgowrie GC but I wasn’t a golfer back then so never knew how good it was 🤣

That's famous for them. They had the same breeding pair for almost 30 years. The wife was invited their years ago by the RSPB which runs that reserve. They had a camera on the nest. Ej was the name of the female. They also had a viewing room with a glass window looking onto a big tree next to the main building They smeared a tree with peanut butter and jam and we sat in this room and watched a group of pine martens all licking it off the tree😍

Next door’s cats…

We‘ve always been animal people. If I sat down long enough I could probably name the 5 borders, 2 dobermans, 1 boxer and the Lab cross. A bit harder with the many cats. Since moving to Spain we’ve been pet free through choice, knowing we’d be out and about getting to know a new country.

Next door’s 2 cats have adopted us. If we’re on the terrace the cats come over to visit, sharing the sofa and chairs. I’d forgotten how relaxing it is to have pets around.
