The WORST club in your bag is....................................?

The Putter.

Its sooo frustrating, One of these day its gonna get chucked into the ogin.
Why o' why cant it behave for two straight days

I struggle with my 4 iron, can't seem to get it up in the air. Very frustrating and it must be in my head because the 5 iron is going really well at the moment.

Driver - slice central
once its in my hands I can;t help but think 'where's this going to end up'

its out of the bag at the mo though and using 3w off the tee instead, course isnt overly long so I am losing nothing distance wise. Haven't been to the range for ages but will be stepping it up over the next couple of months to get ready for Woburn ;)

5 iron - hits well on the range but slap it like silly on the course, so much so that my 7 iron hits further and is more consistent. Rarely use it (the 5), and on the odd chance I do, soon wish I didn't.....

Over the course of this year I made it my task to not have a bad club in the bag. I dont want to look into my bag and think "I need to hit a 7 iron but... my 7 iron doesn't work too well". I have no fear of any club in the bag... apart from a 3 wood off the deck. There is always a nagging thought I'll top it 30yrds down the fairway. But over the year I worked on not having to hit it. In my eyes a wood off the fairway is a none shot, you shouldn't have to hit it unless you've had a bad tee shot, but then why risk it with a miracle shot to get back on target for the hole.

The worst club in my bag is also the cheapest but longest owned club.
Nickent 5w with a regular 65 series proforce shaft. I never use it for straight forward shots (thats what the 3 iron is for). If I have an obstacle to do round or over that the long irons just wont get the height quickly enough for, this comes out. I cannot hit it straight even if I tried but then again it has a shaft that is far too whippy or me but works great out of the rough and can turn 50 yards if need be. doesnt quite have a 100% success rate though like any other club.

most definitely my 3 iron. I’m just too inconsistent to justify getting it out of the bag, hence my Titleist 910H being on my Santa list :-)

One of three clubs.

I usually hit a 5w really sweetly off the deck but i'm really struggling with my new MD 5w. Even when I catch it 'right' it seems to be a fairly low draw, which is kinda the opposite of my stock shot. Now I like the draw shape if only it was consistent with all clubs, oh and i'd prefer a higher trajectory.

4hybrid. Just cant get on with this club. Will probably just revert to a 4 iron.

6 iron. I hit my 5 iron really well and the 7 iron is probably my go to club, so why i struggle with the 6 iron is beyond me. Not sure ive ever hit a good shot with this one. I have a feeling it might have something to do with learning with a 1/2 set (3,5,7,9) and therefore never visualising a shot as being 'a six iron', in much the same way that i often dont visualise 'an eight iron' shot.

Putter - it's a lovely club, but the idiot on the end of it sometimes just doesn't do it's job properly!

My 5 iron, its the last of my MP irons and is maybe a bridge too far on a bad day. i can hit it its yardage or i can hit iy 20 yards less with not alot of difference in the swing. I will replace it with a JPX when I have some cash.

The 4 iron in my new R11 doesn't seem to be keeping up with the programme and is bearing no resemblance to the one I struck like a dream at the test session. If it isn't that it'll be Mr Hooky hybrid

OMG, I have a few slack weeks on the forum and I missed you getting new irons, I know you were liking the R11s. Apart from the 4 how are you getting on with them... what shafts did you get? Congrats.

Has to be my 3 Wood.... tried in vain down the range but gave up... replaced with my 5 Wood which although i bit shorter is much more consistent!

Went with off the shelf KBS90 regular. The 4 iron I tested before I parted with the cash went like a dream and was the one I'd picked off the shelf so it wasn't as if they substituted a dud in when I wasn't looking. Don't know what the issue with it is. The rest of them are going great. Got a day off tomorrow so hitting the range as the course has a huge comp on with big field going off 1st and 10th. Hopefully I'll get it sorted. You've missed that I got the superfast hybrid too - come on get with the programme :fore::cheers:
