I used to have an old Allegro years ago!! Mustard colour, used more oil than petrol lol!! With my Harry Moss radio cassette onboard I was the man about town! What a heap the car was though....???

I recall the Allegro body was so flexible if you jacked one corner the doors jammed. There were special straps to go under the car if it needed a lift-towwhich was often.

Two years after we bought the dealership we changed to Ford from British Leyland, we ended up reducing the workshop staff by a third!

Owned, will be my first car as a 17 year old. Forced by my mum to buy it from one of her friends as it was "a good deal"...... it was a Datsun 180b Buebird, what a heap. More rust coloured than blue....

Driven, a Volvo 340, company car, absolutely shocking motor, green with mustard interior, looked and drove like a skip on wheels.

Bought a brand new BMW 530i in 2007. Worst purchase of my life. Still got it but with less than 83000 miles is ready for the scrap heap. Lovely car to drive, but has cost a small fortune to maintain. Loads of problems with fuel injectors, has had at least 4 sets. Needed a new fuel pump after 30,000 miles. Valve stem seals are probably knackered which could be very expensive. Needs a battery and a service now, but am rather unwilling to spend another penny on it.

Ford Fiesta. Utter crap. Refused to start even on the nicest of days. Drank oil and brake fluid like nobodys business. Almost lost my job over it. I've had Jap cars ever since. (bar one sortie back to Ford with the Mondie Spy Car).

Renault Megane RTE on a 96 plate .. was an inbetweener was more costly than my BMW to service.
Sorted out the boring under steer balance with a front tyre change. But the engine was a little boring.
Strange thing is I found a run over cat, I scooped him up popped him on the back seat and took him to the local vet. He said thanks by crapping on the seat .. thankfully it wasn’t wet.

SAAB 9-3 aero

Thought it looked smart as anything inside and out. However was the most unreliable car imaginable.

It cornered like a boat with the most unresponsive steering ever. The DMF engine warning light fired once a week with a new problem and the Steering wheel column broke when I was on the a34, leading me to believe the bloody wheel was going to detach in my hand.

The biggest kicker though was that it ate a good few thousand of my Navy resettlement savings pot, that i needed to transition into a civvie.

I was literally on bean on toast, negative beans for two months to afford to keep the Swedish slob on the road.

Hate that car. Despite me trying to love and adore it, she just kept kicking me when I was down.

Avenger for me too.
Blue with a black vinyl roof.
A truly awful car to drive.
I wrote it off by hitting black ice and rolling it into a field. I was very lucky.
It did teach me a good lesson - not to have anything heavy or sharp in the car - always put them in the boot.

Jaguar XF. Gave me no end of trouble with various engine faults during the time I owned it. Diagnostic specialist I took it to said XFs are notorious for being difficult to diagnose and impossible to fix. He ran diagnostics on it but said he wasn't prepared to try and fix it as he knew I'd just keep coming back! Got rid of it after that.

I had one of these pieces of junk, same colour with a black vinyl roof, 1750 twin carb and built like a crisp packet, so it was actually quite nippy.

Citroen C5 - worst electrics on a car ever, literally everything would randomly switch off while driving, lights, wipers the lot, even had all the electric windows lower of their own accord and refuse to close while driving down the motorway in torrential rain. Oh! and it was the diesel, so utterly gutless below 2000 rpm, pulling out of junctions or onto roundabouts was an adventure!

Is there a reason so many of us owned an Avenger  (mine was a nice choc brown)
Anyway it was no where near as bad a the citroen bx14 I had. A heap when I bought it and fed it hydraulic fluid every week for that stupid lift/lower feature

I owned my Avenger because it was my Dad’s old car and when he changed it he offered it to me at the price the garage offered him as part exchange.

When he bought it, it was on the forecourt of the local garage for £5040 with a sticker saying make us an offer. He offered them £4000. Salesman scuttled off to the manager, comes back and says “The manager says we can’t possibly go that low, £4040 is the lowest we could take.” Sold.

Not the greatest car I’ve ever owned but solid, reliable and with a huge boot for golf gear.

Ha ha! I’ll admit I don’t know exactly who you’re referring to with this comment, but I assume one of the mods loves an XF!

Lovely car to look at and great when it went. But sadly for me it simultaneously represented the most expensive car I’ve ever owned as well as the one that caused me most trouble.

Only had it less than a year and had to sell it for much less than I paid to a “buy any car” type company. One of those situations where you can’t do much other than wipe your mouth and walk away.

I'm guessing you've never heard of the 'Frag Jag' :ROFLMAO:

My girlfriend had an XF for a couple of days while her car was in for repair. Lovely car but HUGE!!! It wouldn't fit on our drive

Quite lucky that I’ve owned some decent cars that haven’t had the dramas that have been experienced by some...but the worst car I had was a diesel 1.6 Ford Focus, 06 plate.
Despite being a diesel, had no mid-range guts, overtaking had to be planned 3 weeks in advance and it had issues with the DPF so would run lumpy occasionally. Think ownership lasted about 6 months

Bought a "brand new" Ford Mondeo estate in 2003. It had rust spots on the bodywork. Had it professionally assessed. I was told that the rust spots on the bodywork were nothing compared to the corrosion on the bottom of the aluminium engine block. The assessor thought it must have been parked up in a salty atmosphere on the docks for months.
Rejected it for a full refund and got a Honda CR-V.
