Well went out today for the mixed singles competition, came in thinking i played ok, 3 pars in a row at the end made it for me, but when i went to enter my score, i had hit 39 points!!!, i am currently club house leader with 10 more cards to be handed in (phoned the pro shop 10 mins ago) 10 doesn't make sense as we were 3rd last out, so 8 more went out before the entry closed, but anyway, ive never been anywhere near the leader board before. I had to check my score 3 times and still asked the other 3 to do it to, so chuffed im going to get another cut, but i might have my 1st comp win, by 1 point as well, as when i went to hand in the card 5 people were tied 1st with 38, tough conditions make this all the more satisfying, but the results e-mail cant come quick enough!!
 
Good shooting , but don't build your hopes up too much. I played with a young guy yesterday who scored a net 59 and was beat by 1 shot.

Sounds like you had a good round.
Patience required I think. You'll get to know before too long. It's a good feeling knowing you've played well and knowing you're in with a shout.

what was his h/cap and the winners? seems a very hard school to win at if you are single figs

The winner was a 45 year old 13 h/c now 11.6 who plays in 2 medals every week a long time member, The new member was a 22 year old 24 h/c now 20.6. The CSS was 68 played on the shorter Calder course.
A genuine young guy who had a lot!!! of good luck, I would have wondered though if i hadn't been playing along with him.

Golf net updated................ 1.6 cut!!!! 25.8!!!!!!

just need the results tomorrow to make it a double celebration!

im sure some are thinking 'oo woop de doo' ive been trying to get cut for a year, so this is big for me lol

Good man. Played with me partner in a nine holer Thursday and he was struggling til a par five where he got two shots. I put mine 25ft from the pin from 185yd over trees and pond. He said sod it it ave nowt to lose and put it 3 ft from the pin he holed it for five points and finished with 22 points he was buzzing. I had 15 points over 6 holes and finished with 17 points having blobbed on two of last three.

he was like a cat on a hot tin roof waiting for results.. He won it and was dropped 1.6 he is still rocking.. Hope it works out for you.
