The time has come

You should carry a 1-9 iron , wedge, sand wedge, putter, driver and three wood .
If you can't use these clubs and need anything else you are probably lacking in the manhood department. ;)

I sympathise with the OP.....although not fully finalised, it looks like my bag will be 1,3,5,7 and 9 woods, 6 hybrid and then 7iron to AW with a couple of specialist wedges to finish off.

I prefer irons to hybrids and was 6 iron up for a while until at a recent fitting a 5 iron gave me 10 yards on my 6 iron, with all the right stats (land angle important to me). Loft is 26 degrees, so no idea what that is these days.

Then straight into 9 wood, wich adds 15 yards to my 5 iron, 6 wood, 4 wood and driver.

So is your 9 wood an equivalent to a 4 iron?

9 wood is 24 degrees, replacing a hybrid which was the same loft.

7 is 20.25 (so a 6 wood) and 3 is 16.5 high launch model, effectively a 4 wood.

Lofts are 3.75 degree gaps driver through fairways, ending up with 2 degrees to my 5 iron, then 4 deg through the bag, which got my carry gapping as below (3w - 60 deg). My driver is 225 carry baseline including mishits, so is a bit all over the place, but that's now down to me and works with the set, just nervy if I need to guarantee carry over 225 off the tee.

Played twice with the new fairway set up and it's a bit strange having so many woods, but they are currently doing what the fitter intended - I just miss a hybrid.
