the starts just around the corner...whats your seasons goals?

In an ideal world my aim is to win a monthly medal or stableford (well my division anyway) and qualify for our end of season Masters event only open to 2012 comp winners. It would be the 4th year running I've got in. However I'm not overly fussed and its about working hard on the short game, keeping the long swing ticking over and playing as much golf as I can. If I pay well the handicap cuts take care of themselves without having to focus too much on a specific goal
 
No targets for me this year except to commit and play every shot 100%, if I do this well enough then no doubt the cuts will come.

The last few years I've put too much pressure on myself to be cut and it's not helped, I know I can play low 80's I just need to do it consistently.

If I've dropped 6 shots by the end of the year then I'll be a very happy golfer!
 
Aiming this year to improve my consistency of play (consistently like my current good holes, not the bad ones!), partly by playing in more medal comps, and therefore to finally get off 28 and hopefully down towards a low 20-something.
 
Chris/Val, Getting from 16 to 12 is achievable, I done it last season. I thin I woulda got a bit lower too if I had more comps.... Good luck anyway in your quests.

My target for this year is to get from 12 to somewhere safe in single figures. Apart form that not much, just enjoy it as I go. First medal for me though will be 21st April though thanks to work !!!
 
plan was to get to 8 & then have a look at 7 if n when that happened .. well 8 happened in 3rd qualifier last sun .. strive for bit of consistency now & sneak down to 7 .. currently 8.1 = lowest ever H'cap.. so even 7.9 would be good start ,have never been 7.anything

I'm confident enough that I can get to 12 Hendo, lowest was 12.3 so I've been there but need to get more medals in this year. I'm reasonably happy with my game just now, had a few stinking holes yesterday and if I'm honest it was probably my worst round since last season finished but that happens from time to time so we'll see how it affects.

You played pretty well yesterday and like me an odd loose shot gets punished, I'm sure you could make single figures if you play often enough.

I'm sure you will get down single figures Hendo, just need to remove your Poncho and Sombrero :whoo:
 
Well i was biten by the bug in August so my aims are to:
1) play as much golf as i can with a smile on my face
2) be as consistent as i can
3) keep bringing my score lower and lower below 100
4) I don't pay much attention to handicaps really but if i were to bring that down too then i'd be happy
5) I would like to try a comp at some stage this year

Some of these obviously more achievable than others but i always like a challenge...

I've been struggling for a while Val, can still hit a couple of good ones now and again, have went from 8.0 to 9.7 over last season and a half, broken radial head in elbow last April hasn't helped but hopefully will start to get my act together this season.
 
I'm not too focused on a target myself but want to play as much as I can (with 8 month old at home), enjoy it and as said above continue to improve which will lead to cuts anyway.

If I was pushed then I suppose I would say 18 would be my aim in my first proper season.
