The Sopranos

Loved The Sopranos, so much depth to it! If ever a man was made for a role it was Jame's Gandolfini, he just made Tony himself with ease.

When I fist watched it, the ending left me empty, but on re-watch I guess its kinda cool to make up your own mind.

On a separate note i'm off to NY next month and plan on doing The Sopranos tour. Has anyone done it, is it worth it?

Never done it but my initial view was it wasn't worth it however ive heard people say it was very good.

Never seen the Soprano's, giving it consideration at the moment. West Wing was awesome, Breaking Bad also very good, got bored with Boardwalk Empire, but if you like your drama dark....... The Sons of Anarchy is fantastic - just watching the final season and it has gone to a very dark place....

Too many characters in the Boardwalk Empire IMO so it can be tough to follow sometimes and if this hadnt been the last series we probably would have given up on it at the end of the last one.

My sons has started Sons of Anarchy and he is ranting and raving about it so it's on the list.

We've just started Person of Interest which on initial viewing appears to be very good too but we'll see how it develops

Just off kilter slightly. I'm staying away all week with work, are there any kinda small one off tv series which anyone can recommend?
Don't want to get stuck right into one of the 5 series type shows just something short and sweet.
Besides the missus would kill me if I watched The Sopranos without her

If you can get hold of it, Peaky Blinders season 1 is rather good, season 2 is only 2 episodes in. Luther also good, and short seasons.

The wire.

After the sopranos it is absolutely faultless.

the sopranos will always be the best thing I have ever experienced on screen.

The Wire matches it all the way.

Some of the best characters ever and as dark, funny, heart reaching and brutal as our those friend of our from New Jersey.

Honestly it is sublime.

If you have Netflix and for a bit of comedy fun, Lilyhammer, it's a short 2 season series. Steve Van Zandt is in it like is Sopranos character. It's quite amusing.

As much as I enjoyed The Wire I found it a hard watch sometimes due to the way they speak so much so I didnt watch the last series.

Omar was the man though

loads of good stuff on sky go like revolution and orange is the new black on Netflix .

I loved the Soprano's, I watched them in blocks so I didn't have to wait for the next episode so much.

Not on the same level as Sopranos by any stretch, but Underbelly is worth a watch (especially the first season), it is all based on real life happenings in Australia. It always adds a bit more when you finish a series, and you can do a bit of reading up on the real cases/people.

Also watching Gomorrah on Sky Atlantic at the moment, that is proving to be a big hit in our house and is well worth a watch.

Can recommend Lillyhammer and the first 2 seasons of "the killing"

Just brilliant! Season 3 and 4 are rubbish though
