I'd never heard of these fellas until a mate of mine offered me a couple of tickets.
It stands for Spike's All Stars and consists of a few regular band members and a variety of guest artists who turn up and do two or three numbers. Didn't know what to expect really.

BOOM!

They were incredible.
Amongst the many guests were Steve (son of Paul) Rogers, Patti Russo (Meatloaf). Chris (Manfred Mann's Earthband) Thompson, Paul Young, Jack Bruce (who did Sunshine of Your Love) & Midge Ure, who was particularly spectacular, especially his rendition of The Boys Are Back In Town, which he used to play when he guitared for Thin Lizzy.
Also joining the party was a guy named Marc Martell, (You Tube him), who won a contest to play the part of the late Freddie Mercury in the 2012 Queen Extravaganza Tour. He sounded just like Mercury and had Rufus (son of Roger) Taylor on drums. Their Bohemian Raphsody was fantastic.
One of the best gigs I've ever been to.................check them out if you can.
The SAS Band..............................awesome.

Slime.

P.S. And they played for over three hours too!
