The realistic 245 club

I can carry a bunker at our course which is at 230, but I have to catch it flush. So it probably rolls out to 250. Let's face it some people just love to talk bull and look big.

My mate once hit a drive over 600 yds. he pulled it onto the road at the side of the 7th, we picked it up on the way home. It had run down a 2:1 hill though so probably won't count.

Best i've hit (and was witnessed by Vig) was on the 12th at Mid Yorkshire in 2009, and measured on GPS at 292yds.

I average now around the 240-250yds mark.

I remember that one, I was 4 paces back with my 3 iron

13th is 282 from yellows, i've hit the green 5 times, NEVER with the driver. I can however hit the 14th tee with great regularity, i'll measure it next time out

A but thats only if you cut the corner!
Ive run out to the edge of the water on this one.
Oh to have a carry of over 200 yds.

Chris, that's some shot to run into the water on 13. there isn't any! Well not for about 900yds

I hit one over 320 yards once. It hit a sprinkler head at about 225 though. Can I join?

Sorry, it was only just over 320, I'm embarrassed to say and that was even with a back wind, from an elevated tee and with a gargantuan bounce off a sprinkler head the size of a saucer. But it was still only a 225 yard carry though. Hope it doesn't rule me out of the club.

HTL use to get it out there too and hit a 300 yarder down the 16th at Ascot playing with Smiffy. Shame he couldn't putt!

thats nothing vig hit one on the road at the first at machrihanish it ended up in tarbert about 20 mile down the road wind assisted it was best strike of the day but i'm not boasting

I'm out of this one then, I've hit a 375 yard 5 iron. Boy was it long. Carried about 170 ish, then did the old tin cup down the road, (7 bounces minimum) Found it at the far end of the car park behind the 18th green. Was meant to be a subtle lay up to 110 yards. Oops.
