The realistic 245 club

2 Weeks ago I thought I had hit a beauty. Out came the GPS to show that I had creamed it a massive.........

235 yards.

Don't you love it when reality slaps you in the face.
 
Yeah, my name's Dave and I hit it 250 yards.

I've tried to stop but I can't.

My pursuit of more distance has cost me my job, my friends, my Wife and my kids.

There, I've said it and I feel much better...... :o

I feel the same. Maxing out at 240 carry just leaves me feeling desparate for more.
Alas it will plague me for the rest of my life.
I can't....

How many people actually measure their drives?

Every now and then I'll think to myself that I'll play a round and measure them all, but I never remember on the course.

Even when I've hit a good one on the course I only think to measure it when I'm at the ball. Obviously then it's too late.

From memory I've only ever measured 3.

How about anyone else?

I know it's not important, but I'm curious.

When I first got my GPS I measured and I was averaging about 250 yards. It was in winter but, as long as the drive is straight, I'll take it.
 
If I hit a good one I'll measure it, or maybe if I think it's further than it really is. Don't often do it as it doesn't matter much. As long as it was a decent shot I'm happy.
 
I've no idea whats happened to my driving the last few weeks, its gone from a comfortable 230ish with a fairly straight flight to a dodgey pull/slice that maxes out at about 215:D. And thats provided I don't sky it off to the left or thin it horribly.

Whats really odd is that the irons are going really well for the most part (we'll ignore the successive shanks on the 16th at Hanbury...).

Still, hopefully all will become clear tomorrow morning as I have a lesson booked to focus solely on the driver :cool:
 
this is my kind of club alan ,you saw how far i hit it on the trackman so i'll fit right in here,should be called the girls room :)
 
I hit my 3 wood an average of 240 yards at the moment. When I finally get a driver would I be looking at about 270? If so that would be awesome as I could take on par 5s in two! :D
