went into 1 of the local golf stores eagle golf and looked at the new r11 the price was £329 reduced to £289 is they a new one ready for release

I was in Golf World in Glasgow on Tuesday and looked at it and the paint job on the head was horrendous. I pointed it out to the assistant and he said he wasn't surprised.

Perhaps they only undercoat them these days!

Chris

MOst shops had them on sale at £299 the week they were launched, £299 sounds better than £330, that's over £300 which sounds worse than under £300

I thought I read in last months GM that they TM top guy was worried about too many products on the market. I presume he meant makes (R11, burner etc) as there are so many incarnations of each one it is silly. I'm a TM fan but even I baulk at seeing something on sale for a huge price one week being reduced a month later because the latest upgrade is out. If you are making a range (R11) be upfront and say there will be x versions in due course. At least we'd know where we stand

Fcuk me, £289 ain't a sale it's daylight robbery. I don't care how good it's supposed to be, no club is worth £289 and it certainly won't be 150 quid better than the R9 I bought in November

Saw one in the pro shop today. Must admit was not taken with the finish, which looked like an undercoat. Felt good, but the feeling of the members was that you would have to be a good golfer to want to draw attention to yourself with a white club.

I am still trying to live down having white Alan Ball football boots in the 70's. , so not for me.

I had a look in american golf Bournemouth yesterday. the white certainly makes the head stand out. The adjustabilty for me is a negative. I had an R9, I found it quite short and I was always fannying about with the face angle.

I was however quite taken with the superfast, there is a demo day near me soon, I may go and hit one and if I like it.... maybe

If you scratch the head you can always touch it up with tipex!!

After chopping my way (literally) around Ascot today I could take a JJB sport Dunlop special (even a K1) or an R11 and hack both with consumate ease. I have seen them and don't really like them. There is something about the look that makes it look unfinished and I'm not a fan of adjustable drivers. Looked at the Burner superfast and was equally unmoved. It looks ok and I understand the theory behind the desing but not for me £289 or even £189

Getting ready for the launch of the black version.....

Black driver ? Like that's ever going to catch on, get a grip jocko ;)

Thats what i thought until i saw their latest range of putters in white (obviously as they believe its better) and (not sure if this will catch on) black!!
