Just watched it and its quite a lengthy film. So much so Missis T fell asleep about half a dozen times. Bless her.
Thought it was a good old fashioned western Tarantino style.

I really enjoyed it, like you say typical Tarantino style with the amount of violence, but still a good film, good few twists.

Kurt Russell and Samuel Jackson are excellent with some excellent supporting roles.
However some of the language (using the N word when referring to blacks) on a regular basis was a bit uncomfortable for me,

Have you seen Jango unchained?

You enjoy nowt decent film snob ;)

Im definitely going to give this film a go, as Djano Unchained is one of my favourite films.

That's cos you're an idiot 😉
Django dragged like a bag of spanners, at times it was like a second rate Blazing Saddles rip off. I don't want to get into the argument again but I also thought his overuse on the N word was extremely distasteful.

As I said in the 'films' thread totally underwhelmed with this picture...
Was shot in the digital equivalent of 65mm then sets most of the picture inside one room...
Totally wasted opportunity...

If moviemakers want to stop folk watching their work using devices attached to their tellys..
Then they need to make more films that need watching in their rightful place on a big screen...

Hav'nt seen it yet, but I love all his films so am expecting great things. What's all this PC rubbish about the use of certain words? Not acceptable nowadays obviously, but if you make a film aimed at adults set in America during times of slavery (Django) you've got to expect some choice language. Maybe those easily offended should give Tarantino a wide berth because he dos'nt shy away from uncomfortable subject matter to appeal to the masses.

Good point.

I'm not sure if it's aimed at me but I certainly wasn't offended. For me he just used it way too much, in fact it got boring after a bit to be honest. I think at the time I heard a debate on the radio which was saying there's no proof that they actually spoke like that back then, it kind of confirmed to me he was just using it to be a clever @rse.

I was'nt directing at anyone mate, just my general observation on political correctness gone mad. Tarantino does exaggerate language and violence to an almost cartoonish degree and you've got to expect it going into one of his films.

I thought it was a very good film not up with his best but none the less I really enjoyed it.

As for the use of a certain word I thought it was justified in the context of this film, and I think the use of the F word shows swearing can be used not only to add to a film it also can be very amusing.

The dialogue between Kurt Russel and Samuel L Jackson when they were discussing Lincolns letter at the table showed what a brilliant writer Tarantino is.

As with all good films it makes you think and I would highly recommend it.
