Going up the golf coast for a little trip - know the obvious courses - anyone got any other suggestions? Any good websites (besides this of course) with reviews etc?

Does Royal Birkdale ring a bell?
Southport is just outside the wonderful city of Liverpool with a few top quality links tracks. Not cheap to play neither

The Northwest has been known as englands golf coast with Royal Liverpool,Birkdale&Lytham St Annes aswell as a number of other top courses in the area.

My only experience of golf in Southport are Hillside which is a lovelly track, very testing which is next to Birkdale
And Southport muni which is alright but coming here its not a track worth playing
Have you looked at Southport & Ainsdale and West Lancs golf club also Formby hall as mentioned
