The Fat, Bald, Yellow Guy Cometh

HTL

There was a thread about 2-3 weeks ago and I know SS2 who is one of the guys that is involved with the strokesaver company (software I think) published a discout code so you could trial it for a month and then get it for £35

I think you should rest your mouth old boy, although I do find something in your posts that keeps me reading, I dunno what it is. And my names Ben not Curt, lets have it right.

Benny, why? This is a golf forum not a place to vent anger, We congratulate each other and give virtual slap on the backs, not tell some one you don’t know they are awful (which they clearly are not).

Please be nice and treat others as you want to be treated.

I've not told him he's awful. We're off the same handicap of 14. Fact is I'm realistic about my limitations as a golfer and I'm shooting way under it, while he's loading his head full of crap and struggling to get near it, then writing a detailed thesis on missed putts here and hard luck there. Golfs not a hard game if you simplify it and I dread to think what some people would think when they see 14 handicappers talking about % statistics.

might try and get hold of some of this software,i always mark down gir and how many putts i've had,but usually only compare them to my last round it would good to get a clearer view.
homer since i joined this forum i have enjoyed reading your posts, surely benny if you find them boring you dont have to read them, pretty simple isn't it.

You'd think so but theres something that keeps me reading. I can't describe it. I want to see what he writes next. Its like he's doing it so I don't have to. Part of me is HomerJsimpson and the other part is the anti-homer.

Are you admitting to being a bandit?

I don't go much on stats....but I do like to know how many putts I took and how many greens I hit. It's easy Maths for me though, because I predicatably hit 6 per round. That's 33.3%. If I hit this target (6/18) and play worse than my h'cap I've messed up somewhere with double bogeys or evil 3 putts.

I think stats are great, Ive finished my trial of SS2 and really need to get my finger out and buy it.
It helps you understand that you are more often short than long on approaches, or possibly left/right, do you need to reign in your driving a little, do you need to practice your chipping more than other areas etc.
Its a far better way of tracking your progress than practice range notes as the practice range means nothing on a saturday card where it matters. Im not saying to go without practice range time, simply that making notes on pulling practice wedges/irons etc amounts to naff all as you are already on the range so why not stay until you sort one of your problems.
The better golfers can identify where they need to practice, using stats helps do this, ignorance to faults breeds bad shots and non improvement.
