I think you're missing the really quite interesting point behind this discussion about how perceptions differ in different people, based on how they see things.

I'd suggest it is you that's missing the point; it's not about perceptions, it is about the lighting in the photographs as much as anything.

Fair comment, perception is the wrong word. But it taught a lot of people (like me) more about how different people see things based on their cones in their eyes working better.... Or something like that anyway!
