Yes very impressive the winner.
Very poor field,but you can only beat whats in front of you.
Good decision to bring it back to Saturdays.

Would be great to go for The St Leger as no colt has done the Triple Crown since the great Nijinsky in 1971.
Plenty bigger races than the Leger before then for it to compete in and win.

Correct me if I'm wrong but the 2000Guineas,The Derby and St Ledger are the only group 1 races you can win for it to be classed as the triple crown.

I believe that is correct.....but Oh So Sharp a filly won the 1000 Guineas Oaks and St Leger.....so you could say "she" won the "womans" Triple Crown !

I went there yesterday, what a load of crap, 100,000 people trying to drink champagne from plastic glasses or eating caviar from the boot of their Astra. What a waste of time...... I used to live close to Epsom Downs and all the locals avoided the event like the plague. The whole town was taken over by gypos (sorry ethnic group = travellers) and the fairground up on the downs was just a place to get beaten up or your wallet nicked.
