Saturday's medal - started well. Net par, birdie, bogey, eagle - got this game cracked!

Hole 5 - decent drive, lay up in front of the water....

4 balls in the water later (and nearly a club), playing 11 and still not over the water, head completely gone.

God I hate this game!

Ouch that's messy but it's why we all keep coming back for more, just when you think you've cracked it the golfing gods strike!

Same experience yeserday...playing quite well by my standards but managed to lose 5 balls in 18 holes! 2 OB 2 in water and 1 disappeard god only knows where. Being a true Yorkshireman I spent all night with a head torch and flashlight searching for them. My misery compounded by breaking a tee.

i have one of those, first five holes at our track is a pretty togh stretch, normally im happy with one or two over the handicap par, couple of weeks a ago, Birdie, Birdie, Par, Par Par for a net -7 after 5 holes, im thinking this is it, next two holes known locally as birdie alley as they are short par 4's, i took a nine and a ten?!?!

after that i was shot.....
