Finally got around and watched it.. abso brilliant. Irrespective of if you like Churchill or not, it makes gripping watch. The amount of horse trading and self preservation that goes on within the Establishment is very ‘interesting’
On a different level, you can replace the same movie but use Brexit as the setting and the movie still makes sense (flame suit on)

I don’t know the history so I thought the tube bit was v interesting... though I never expected Churchill to do something like that

He didn't. The question was asked by interviewers at the launch of the film. The scene was, as you say, pure fiction.

I'd go a stage further & say what was brilliant was the make up. Gary Oldman was very good, but the make up made him believable.

Very true. I just think it didn't need to go so far with the fictitious parts - the story was amazing enough if it had been portrayed factually!
