We have the ryder and presidents cup, why is there no cup that all can play in say a continent cup?

I suppose it would be down to not wanting to take anything away from the two cups already in existence.

It could be done instead of every two years do them every 3 years or make the continental cup once every 5 years.

I would like to see this, what would be your thoughts on something like this?

you might have problems as the pro's claim that they are too heavily committed. It's not new,

The Dunhill (ended in 2000 - lost out to the 'World Cup of Golf') was a 16 nation, 3-man team event.

The World Cup (originally the Canada Cup, then last year the Omega Mission Hills World Cup)- two-man teams, Scotland won last year (Monty again)
