Ok its that time of year again, a non qualifying event with reason to consume lots of alcohol.
Our £20 gets us our 2's club, breakfast or lunch time dependant, drink voucher afterwards, mid round drink, 18 hole putting competition and a percentage goes to prizes iirc.
What do you pay and what do you get for your money?
Bearing in mind we get around 300 people out on the Saturday mainly with some playing on the Friday.

It is an annoyance Chris so +1 with you on that! :D

Forgot to mention, longest drive and nearest the pin are included too.
£20 just feels a little steep then you dont have the qualifying handicap event either so feels like you are missing out on a chance of a cut....or .1 back.

€25... you get the pleasure of 2 rounds of golf on your own course oh & a handshake from the captain BOTH DAYS .. dont all rush to join now ok .. Captain this year is the soundest bloke ever .. 100% great guy so looking forward to it ..

25 for a handshake, Id play the lady captains day and hope for a peck on the cheek or something to make it worthwhile! haha.

I always support the captain, ours is a good bloke and very supportive of the club,he is even trying to change a few things for the better.
Although im sure its a great honour to captain any club it can cost a great deal of money over the year.
Ours has been put back till later in the year[dont know why]but as i said [im in].

Sorry, I'm at work!
I was simply trying to say that we do exactly the same as Fundy for exactly the same money, including the BBQ.
However, if you want more details, we have chicken burgers and beef burgers, plus potatoes and salad. ;)

That's a tenner, and the format is 4 ball teams, where SI 1-6 counts three stableford scores, 7-12 counts two scores and 13-18 counts one score. Prizes for top 3 - last year I won it with 105 points, and we won a great holdall with the club logo on.

Better? ;)

Much!

I hate that format during qualifying season. We won our similar comp last year with 111 pts.
Captains day at our place is middle tees stableford and for a laugh they move some of the tees way forward so they are unmeasured!.

Oh no you wouldnt.. TRUST ME on this one ha

Blimey, it's pricey elsewhere.

£3.50 gets you entry into the Captain's Medal on the Saturday with a halfway house and decent prizes.

£3.00 on the Sunday gets you into the Captain's Scramble with a plate of sarnies, pork pie, sausage rolls and cake afterwards. Oh, and some decent prizes too.

Pretty good value, if you ask me and well attended too.

Our captains is a two day event with a cut after the first round. £6 gets you two rounds of golf (if you're lucky) plus a food voucher (£5) and a snack and drink at the half way hut on day two. 2's is a pound extra on each day and there are not normally any prizes for longest drive/closest the pin.
