I went to watch City with my 14 yo Liverpool supporting footie daft grandson last night. We had a great evening together that was only spoilt by watching the football....if you can call it that. What a borefest!!!!! I glad I don't have to suffer that every week. Pass pass passitty pass pass pass. I found myself, saying for gods sake LAUNCH IT !!!! Get behind them !!!! Good grief!!! A style/game plan is one thing but good grief man, your 5, that's FIVE!!!!!!!! nil up against a side from that massive footballing nation Romania. Hell fire my grandson and me could have played and Citeh still would have won!!!! Pep is going to have to have a back up plan in the Premiership. Oh and another thing, just when did tackling become obsolete? Not one tackle did I see. Lots of sliding in things, where free kicks were awarded when players fell over. Jesus one player was falling over before he was challenged, I kid you not. He knew it was coming and was half way to the floor before the challenge came in!!!!! It was my first live game in years, due to the prices, but at £22 for me and £5 for him then I thought it was worth it. Wrong. If that's that football has become then it's not worth watching. It's just a bunch of choreographed girls falling over.
I'd sooner have pins stuck in my eyes !

weren't they like 4-1 up on aggregate?

Did you actually think they'd go out and fully attack the game and risk injuries/leaving themselves open at the back?

Game was over. Hence they cut the prices. What did you expect? All Euro games are like that anyway...little pretty passes and folk falling over as if shot by an elephant gun...

...............keep watching Macc....they need your cash and you'll see a more robust version of the game!

If you want blood and thunder then you probably need to drop down a division or two. You can get full pelt in the PL but european matches can be like that. I haven't watched much of the Champions League for the last couple of years for this reason and if the games elite choose to produce a European league, being talked about again apparently, then they are welcome to it. I wont bother, I'll stick with what is left in England. I'm pleased to see at my team, Everton, that Koeman is bringing a little more pace and directness to the team rather than endless sideways passing as you describe.

I will only go watch top flight rugby and non-league football. Proper sporting specials.

Go watch your local non-league club instead.

I only went coz it was cheap. My grandson said to me at half time. Great "Grandad wouldn't like this would he? "

HELL NO !

Most of the top players were rested, so you'd think the others would put a display on. But no, they stuck to the plan/tactics. zzzzzz. I said at the end that if I'd have been the striker I'd have dropped deep taken the ball and run at the defence, JUST FOR SOMETHING TO DO!!!!! I've never been to a match with so little atmosphere, and I've been to Macc Town with 200 people there!!!!! People sat around us just chatting away about all sorts of stuff. people sat staring at phones. One bloke in front of me had a menu up on his, sorting his supper out !!!

Remember watching Wasps vs Saracens at the Ricoh a couple of years back.

Oh my god i've never been so bored in my life.

Actually, tell a lie, the England vs New Zealand Rugby League Series match at Olympic Park Stadium, finished about 6-2, would've fallen asleep but for the lovely New Zealand girl sat next to me

Well being a city fan, and being at the game I would like to defend my team. I really would but am struggling to. As has been mentioned Bucharest had no chance of getting anything. Pep said he would be giving fringe players a game and he did. Some established players like YaYa did themselves no favours at all.
As I mentioned on another blog I started yesterday, the game to get your lad to is Celtic and Barca. If you want to go to either I will try to get you a couple of tickets.
It was a rubbish game to watch.

Come and watch Leicester City - none of this passing backwards malarky - well we struggle to sting more than five passes together, but that's not the point. The team are not afraid to try a high risk pass as long as its not in a dangerous part of the pitch and that's what creates chances.
