After another frustrating day on the greens, and this despite holing a 15' for birdie on the 1st, I finally thought what the hell and bought the V-easy from the pro shop.
Using it on the short game area, it confirmed that I have a pretty good technique for chipping so made me feel good about something. It showed a problem with my pitching which I can now work on and also showed that my alignment has been a little off. So already I'm thinking this is a decent piece of kit.
I then took it to the putting green. Yesterday, I'd done my 4 peg routine and was frustrated beyond belief to only average 8.4 pts. Today with the V-easy, and despite still feeling uncertain about my putting, the same routine averaged 15.5 pts. Almost a 100% improvement in 24 hours!
The pro came out to have a look at me using it and I offered him a quick go. He took a couple of chip swings with it and just said "yeah, that's really good for everything; chipping, pitching, putting; it really gets the hands and body working right".
So I told him he could now say they come highly recommended to which he smiled and replied "aye, but people just aren't willing to put the effort in and work on their game". Sad, but undeniably true.
Anyhoo, thanks bob! A genuinely quality item that I will keep and use for years. Now invent a turf-like mat for us to use at the range instead of those crappy mats so it feels like I'm still playing golf and we're away!
