Please say if your expected something similar to a Major Championship.I don't think I've heard anyone say that.
I'd hoped for something less dull personally.
This needs clever editing and should be highlights, not live. Too much standing around and superfluous nonsense.
This is it in a nutshell, if they could compact the good highlights, decent soundbytes, keep it to 30/45 mins. it could be a good watch.
The way it is is too long, too much standing about and guys that are only good at hitting a golf ball trying to be funny and entertaining, when they are just that, only good at hitting a golf ball.
Issue is there are fans there paying tickets etc so to have it to 30 mins etc will not sell well to sponsers as well
Keep the full show to those there that’ve been daft enough to buy tickets, I’m more meaning for the rest of us watching TV
Agreed, plus sponsors don’t care about the few thousand watching from the stands.Keep the full show to those there that’ve been daft enough to buy tickets, I’m more meaning for the rest of us watching TV
That doesn’t satisfy the sponsers etc though
Sorry yeah that is true, you’d think surely through time though the overall product would be more appealing to sponsors and ££££ if it’s more entertaining to everyone watching worldwide.
The way they have it just now is never going to kick off
That doesn’t satisfy the sponsers etc though
A packaged highlight show is much more attractive to sponsors than a drawn out event with people standing around doing nothing. It doesn't need to be live.
It's the same with every TV show. I'm sure an epidode of Gladiators takes longer than an hour to film.
Real golf is a tough sport for TV to cover. The course is vast, the ball is tiny and travels incredibly fast, the action is going on simultaneously in different places which could be a mile apart. TGL offers an opportunity to watch top level athletes up close hitting the same shot in a controlled space which can easily be captured on camera and analysed. Easy to get in product placement for sponsors too.

Long term appeal! I can’t see any appeal at all it’s up there with the crap my kids watch on YouTube where they watch other people play computer games they have themselves at home.I'm just not sure watching golfers hit into a screen has long term appeal.
For now I like they are trying to do something different away from the traditional PGAT product
Apparently Lewis Hamilton is setting up a Mario cart leagueLong term appeal! I can’t see any appeal at all it’s up there with the crap my kids watch on YouTube where they watch other people play computer games they have themselves at home.
If Hamilton is involved then I might go and stick pins in my eyes I think that’ll be more entertainingApparently Lewis Hamilton is setting up a Mario cart league![]()
