I believe removing Terry is a mistake he is a good leader and sets a great example on the pitch leads from the front[not off it]we need winners on the field setting the standards.I cant see us having a settled captain now and that could be detrementle to our chances in the world cup. What do you think?

He should not be Captain, at that level they shouldn't need a captain. These players think they can get away with anything and Capello has shown he is the boss not the suits at the F.A. But if Sven was still in charge he would be asking for her phone number.

I am sooo Glad he is out, i can't stand the bloke and i would never want to play for a captain like him. He is a bad example to his team mates and to kids . . . and gets alot of sponsorship from his role as captain!!! Doesn't deserve it and in my opinion i don't think he is that good a defender!!

He should still be the captain, what he did was off the pitch and naff all to do with his place in the team.

The boss was wrong to drop him and was just going along with the press.

Capello knows what it takes to have a winning team, and discipline is a big part of it. You just cannot have a situation where the captain is boning the girlfried of a team mate. Not matter how good a captain his is, he's broke the rules and has to be dropped. If he'd have stayed as captain, I think that would have had a more detrimental effect on team spirit than if he'd stayed, and it would have made a mockery of Capellos record for discipline.

To me, I don't care about the sex side of it. It takes two and all that. However, selling out his Wembley box, against FA rules, is an abuse of his position. Selling tours of Cobham after ours is grubby. Mortgaging his house 4 times in 2 years to pay off bookies. Not the actions of someone you want as Captain of your country. Jeez, someone offers him £50, he might throw the game. Money problems = unreliable. If he can't get by on £170,000 a week, how bad at managing money is he.
And all that going to court for a gagging order. What a twit.
Combined with his drug dealer dad, knocking off that 17 year old in his bentley, it all adds up to not a pretty picture.

Trouble is, who replaces him? Rooney? Who knocks off grannies and is married to a tax dodger? Ferdinand the performance enhancing drug cheat, who is always injured? Cashley (please no, too many reasons no), David Calamity? Becks the free kick taker? Heskey?? Lampard the dogger? Gerrard who can't play for England only the scousers, and who punches people in bars?

There isn't a stand out candidate really.

could be detrementle to our chances in the world cup.

What chances?

Do you honestly think we are going to be good enough for long enough to win it? What makes us think this? We've won the World Cup - once, years ago, on home soil, at a time whn most other Countries fielded crap teams. And we've never been close since.

We'll be good for the Quarter's or Semi's but win it? Not a chance and having JT at the helm or anyone else isn't going to change that.

For what its worth I think its right that he's lost the Captaincy. England Captains should behave as such at all times - on and off the field. He's a role model for hundreds of thousands of kids - great!

I'm not a england fan or a fan of John Terry, but it looks like the vultures have got exactly what they want regardless of the effect on the team.

Typical english press build you up then when it suits them, they knock you down.

Footballers are everything but role models. Kids heroes yes but definately not role models.

Murph, don't forget Ferdinand was never proved to have taken drugs and Gerrard was found not guilty by the law.

I think it will make no difference once the World Cup starts. Terry will be in the team on merit as one of our best defenders and it won't matter who has the armband.

I think he has been caught out too many times to be held up as a good role model which is what the captain is suppose to be about.

personally - can't stand the bloke - but lets face it - he's probably the best captain the team could have (before the press vultures smelt blood)..

According to Talk Sport radio today Gareth Barry is the most picked player by Capello. I think he would be a good choice, no skeletons in the cupboard, and was Martin O'neills choice at Aston Villa.

Beckham was mentioned and that he would rescue us again, do me a favour, he's had his day, and as great as he was, he's now just a fringe player.

Rooney was also suggested - big mistake in my opinion. We need him to concentrate on his own game, being far and away our best player he doesn't need the distraction of Captaincy.

I'm glad Capello has acted swiftly and left nobody in any doubts. Hopefully it will all die down now and be almost forgotten by the time the World Cup starts.

Golfmmad.
