Anyone hit either the Ping Rapture V2 or the TM R9 Drivers.....

Which would be recommended....
Flogged my Ping i15 driver today and for the moment ill be using the Mizuno MX thats in my sig..

But iv seen the 2 above on golf bidder and they are pretty cheap...
Is the Rapture more forgiving than the G10,15,20.

Im guessing they are both good clubs but as we all know buying off the net you take a risk.

I can only comment on the R9 but what a difference its made to my driving.

A lot could be down to the shaft though. I wanted to try a S shaft as the dispersion from my Cobra F-Speed regular was all over the shop.

Picked up The R9 460 with a GD MD-6 shaft and it's made a huge difference. Absolute bargain as well.

Use the R9 myself. With a USM V2 Gold shaft in. Had the weights and thing set up for me. It goes straight as a die. Just one thing if you get one. Get it set up for you then leave it alone. Don't muck about with it. Any bad shots are the guy on the grip not the club.

Rapture was the best driver I've ever owned. Great club, get the dianana blueboard shaft rather than the Ping shaft if you can.

Oosthuizen still uses a V2. Says it all too me!

Craww i play Stiff 700 D shafts in my Ping i series....
Would the Diamana stiff shaft be too stiff for me...Would that shaft in regular be better?

I can only give you swing speed for a 7 iron at 86 mph if thats any indication.

I got hold of the Rapture driver 10.5 with regular dianana blueboard shaft a few months ago.

I like it. I think the shaft is quite firm for a reg. Picked it up from a proshop for £75, so your experiment is unlikely to cost much if you shop around, and being ping should resell quite easily if you don't like it.

Despite being a bit GI, I don't find it sits particularly closed or puts a big hook on it (which I've heard the K15 is wont to do).

it's personal, I had the R9, hit the Rapture, now own a g20. I can't ever see myself moving away from Ping again. The rapture was better imo than the R9, the g20 is better again. I've got the TFC tour shaft in my G20 and it feels pretty stable.

The other benefit with the ping is it's non adjustable. The temptation to mess around with the settings on the r9 did my head in.

I didn't like the Rapture when I tried it. The G15 and G20 were better.

I had a TM R9 in my hire club bag in Morocco and absolutely ripped it! Wouldn't swap the 910 for it, mind (honeymoon period is limited to 18 holes, I reckon! Plus it was lovely weather, which helps).

Of the two you mentioned, I'd go for the TM but that's just me.
