Anyone any experiance with the above? I'm looking to book a golf break there for about 36 lads in September and I'm just after some reviews if you have them.

Cheers All

Depends on the cost. If you can on Hawkstone for the same money, I'd go there (personally).
I have played *some* of it (how many courses are there now?) and it's quite good, but not outstanding by any stretch.....

Totaly agree. Used to play this course a lot, corporate freeby stuff, and it is ok but not as good as Hawkstone.

Telford Golf and Spa hotel is ok. If I was booking a golf break I wouldn't play there though. It's not in great condition at the moment. It's local to me so I've played it quite a few times over the past 2 years and it's going downhill in my opinion.

Hawkstone is a great choice as it has 2 courses and always in good condition. Patshull park is also in decent condition but I would say that as I'm a member there! :)
The Shropshire is a good visitors course too as it has 3 sets of 9 holes which is good and the course is always in good condition.

I've had a look at Patshull and it looks ok but it's had some very bad reviews

not sure what people have said about Patshull park but as a new member I find it one of the best looking courses in the area and quite challenging in the middle block of holes especially. It's in good condition ATM and if anyone wants a sample of the course PM me and we can have a game.

Shrewsbury golf club is another good course. Played there last summer and it was excellent.

All the reviews I've looked at complained about the way they were spoken to by staff. I didn't see a bad report about the course.

I bet you liked it 'cause you also played well. (?)

Good greens at Shrewsbury, but there's just no danger.
(Oh, apart from a tiny pond on a par 3), and the back 9 is really easy apart from the awful 12th hole.

I'll keep an eye out for that sort of behaviour. I haven't seen anything like that yet but I've only been there two minutes. Interesting to hear though.

I have only played it the once and and thought Shrewsbury was a tidy well maintained course. The clubhouse was good and the chilli they cooked for the society was superb afterwards. I agree that course could be tougher but it was a good day, good company, great course and good food afterwards. I was distinctively average on the golfing side of it. :)
