Hi all, just thought some of you might find this useful.....

I know its easy to pick up those little packs of Tees from the Pro shop occasionally, but I find they are usually extortionate for what you get ?
(except Bobmac's of course......)

2yrs ago, I bought a bundle off Fleabay, 200 of both 55mm & 70mm for Drivers etc, in different colours, so easily distinguished. Only just getting to the bottom of the supply now.....

So yesterday, bought some again, 400 Wooden Tees, which with Postage, was £9. Good value me thinks :)

Here's the guys' website if anyone is interested, and No, I have no affilliation, just thought someone may like the head's up.

I haven't bought any tees for decades. Picked up another 20 odd last weekend. I have a big bag with about a 1000 of them in it. I never take any out, but when I get too many in my golf bag, I empty them into my tee bag. I only pick up wooden tees too. No plastic rubbish. No idea what I will do with the spares, but they would make good kindling when I get my wood burner.

I bought about 1,000 plain wooden ones off of a guy on ebay for about £10.00 last year.
I still have loads left because, like Murph, I will pick them up on the way round and pop them in my pocket. I only like wooden ones too. Can't stand plastic tees.
I haven't broken many of the original ones because I tend to sweep the ball away with a beautiful fluid swing as anyone who has played with me will confirm.

Pretty good deal that.

Needed to buy some the other week so found this guy on ebay "golfguru.73". I know a lot on here are not the biggest fan of ebay but this guy was good, quick delivery etc.

500 x 70mm tees from advertising over runs costs £7.20 delivered.

I don't really look for them, I just pick them up if I see one. For instance, I like a tidy area on the tee where I tee up, so if there are a couple of old tees stuck in the ground, I pull them out and throw them away. Often they are whole, so they go in the bag, and the broken ones get binned. Ditto for a mate of mine who uses those grey castle things. I spend my life trying to find his, after it has pinged out of the ground, so I find lots of wooden ones at the same time.

Even Retief Goosen picks up broken bits of tee to use on par 3s.

You mean you don't hit them hard enough to break them.

My Dad found a tee in Scotland (of all places, although Yorkshire would have done) which was made from two different coloured bits, pinned together with a metal pin down the middle. It must have taken ages to repair, and the guy must have been gutted when he lost it after all that hard work.

the ultra cheap(200 for £2) I bought from sports direct break evey time I hit a shot as they are mega brittle.

Played in a club match on Sunday against a guy who had 2 plastic castle tees, 1 high tee 1 low tee tied together with 2 long elastic bands so that he wouldnt lose them, the one he used to tee off was tied to the other which was stuck in the ground...pathetic!

Tell your mate to do what I do with his silver castles. I wrap a bit of white insulating tape around them, they are 100% easier to find then.

I'm a pinky too, feel the whites are too low but often the pinks too high, is there a happy medium?

I was told (not because I used them) that that wasn't legal, because it could be used as an alignment aid.

Might be one of mine :o

Like you, I too pick up tee's. haven't bought one since \i started playing again. :D

I have a stash of long tees for the driver.
For irons and fairways I hunt around for a broken one - there's always one around somewhere.
Could probably do with getting some more long'uns though
