Tees in rough

Following my round this morning, also came across this little beauty.

Walking down after my tee shot into the cabbage on a par 5, I noticed within a 5 foot radius of ball approx 20 tees lying in the rough.

The type and manner that they lay would not suggest that a single person had dropped them all.

This got me thinking, surely there arnt people out there, that when out of site, would tee a ball up in the rough?!

Has anyone ever caught anyone doing this and what was the reaction?

Someone left there bag open and the tees dropped out?!

Some were broken and you could see where a couple had been inserted into ground - wasnt too CSI, but looked suspect

My 6 year old son struggles to hit the ball so I encourage him to tee it up everywhere; rough, fairway, whatever.

Odd. I can think of a few reasons for this, none of them are suspicious.

Is it still winter rules at your course?

We have only come off winter rules in the last two weeks due to a dry course with no grass as it had decided not to grow until we had some rain.

The fairways were hardpan and pretty much just bare earth in places. And the rough... what rough? Just tufty bits of sorry looking grass!!

Now its all lush and green, its so beautiful again!
