Treated myself to a new RBZ driver today. Had it set up on a flightscope type system so I have the right shaft etc. The computer showed the majority of my shots on the fairway, with only a couple in the trees.
Took the club straight down the range, and was all over the shop. Switched to my trusty 3 wood, which I know I am quite accurate with on the course, and the same again, useless.
I recently saw an advert for tees that had a brush top, and a claim it would improve your shot. I thought it was a load of rubbish, I mean surely a tee can't affect a balls flight, but today has got me wondering, can those bloody great rubber range 'tees' give you problems, like if you don't catch it dead square does the tee add more sidespin as the ball launches?

that's not going to be the issue - but if you believe it is it will help!

this sounds like the classic case of swinging your best for the machine, and the tester, then heading to the range to see what you can do with the club!

wind it back a few notches - it will work better with a smoother swing.

You're probably right, it just seemed weird that it happened with my 3 as well, which I know I am accurate with out on the course. I must admit I don't use the range that often, and when I do I tend to concentrate on short iron shots off the mat.

Yeah think youve had new driver syndrome. First chance you want to smack it and see it fly further than the one it's replaced.
Slow your swing down and swing within your tempo you'll find it will then fly further.

I think both the rubber tee's at our range (independent shop) are too high and much higher than what I use on the course. This causes me a problem.

When using my 3 wood at the range, the higher it is tee'd up the more I tend to come across it and fade but when I come off the mat, it's as straight as an arrow!

I'm now looking for a different range which has outside facilities or where you can at least tee up yourself.
