Sorry chaps you are all talking cobblers, I have been using ladies tees for years and me and my friends Julian and Sandy have a right giggle at all the chaps messing about with the latest techno tees. I only use the ones marked "practice" as I am not very good, but Jules likes Big Berthas!

I think a word of warning about tee fitting. My mate got fitted for some Titleist tees with a few others and he said every one there was recommended the Pro VTee despite their handicap. As the fitter said that it would give a greater benefit than other cheaper tees in the Titlest range such as the Velocitee and the NXTee, no matter what standard the golfer was. There was even one old lady there who had got confused and was actually wanting to test drive a VW Golf and had never played golf before in her life, but she still got recommended the top of the range ProVTee.

So my mate ended up buying 5 ProVtees at £15 each. But now looking back he just feels he was conned into buying the most expensive one. He did question what the point was of the Velocitee and NXtees if everyone was going to just get recommended the more expensive ones. But at that stage the man from Titleist just went 'Mwaa haa haaa' and then ran off to the cashpoint machine with a skip in his step.

So beware.

Just got me wondering, do people use a different type of tee in summer compared to winter? Given the different ground conditions maybe I should use a firmer tee in winter but switch to a premium tee when conditions are better?

Adidas has announced ZeroTee.. it is so small, it feels like there is no tee at all.... There is a 'street version' coming soon which will not sink into the ground either.

Admit it chaps....
How many of you men secretly use ladies tees?
OK NM i'l admit it. I can't believe no-one else will, especially in todays enlightend views on equality.
I USE LADIES TEES.
There i've said it, and now its out in the open, but i don't care. Because the truth is chaps i can honestly say i'am on average 10 yrds closer to the green on every hole. :o

This winter i have had no choice but to use a floating tee...

Can anyone tell me the difference between the 2012 Pro Tee 1 and the 2013 Pro Tee 1?

I've got an opportunity of a very good deal on some 2012's but I don't want to miss out on any advancements made in the 2013 model.

Advice?

I think the 2013 models stay whiter for 3 holes longer than the 2012 model did. Also the flight of the tee after you have hit the ball may be slightly more penetrating and they will balloon slightly less.

With more companies (such as Nike who make clothing) turning to manufacturing golf equipment, I was surprised to see the Cup-a-teeâ„¢ from Tetley being widely used on the PGT tour (T stands for Tips). Apparently each Cup-a-teeâ„¢ contains a refreshing drink inside that can be accessed only after removing the top with a well struck driver or iron... no good hit, no drink! Genius!

+1

All well & good but there's a school of thought promoting the Hoover-Tee (as the name suggests it works by sucking the ball-tee combo together)

What happens after you hit it is basically the tee remains 'suction attached' and acts like a tail and while this does eliminate spin to zero (which is never good) it does allow for a smoke trail to be left allowing not only an easier ball find but also a sure way of discerning the exact point at which your ball crossed the hazard/oob boundary (which it definitely will)

As an edit I believe R&D is underway to develop static tee's that will actually repel the ball at point of clubhead impact using the static charge and early testing suggests a gain of 5-10mm of your shots (my local track is already lengthening several holes in preparation of these hitting the market)

hover tees could work with magnets

No that was Stan Collymore asking for a kipper tie.;)

Maybe that's what CERN are testing underground in Switzerland all along.

The cads, all this haydron accelerator is a load of guff, they are testing out the new Rocketballzier tees for 2014 and not re-creating the big bang theory.

Watch this space....

Apparently the best way to open it is with a bladed 1 iron, slicing the top off.
