Strange one this, - I know we are all suckers for shiny new latest equipment, the things that promise to help us get closer to the Holy Grail lower Handicaps, and I have to confess, in buying my 910D3 Driver this year, it seems money well spent so far, I'm loving it.
Easy to hit, lovely to look down at, and seemingly long, so its here to stay.
However, and this is the rub, I also carry an ancient Callaway WarBird 4Wood, (perhaps 15/20years old ?) complete with Steel shaft, and its a hugely powerful club, and gets me 230+yds whenever I get it out.
So has technology come that far in anything other than Drivers, and why has every Fairway Club got a Graphite shaft in, when steel serves me so well ?
Thoughts ?
