As most of you know, myself, SteveK and Screwback (where is he these days? :D) all got given a dozen of Paul McGinley's Penta/TP balls which are different to the store bought Penta TP's, they're supposed to be less spinny than the regular ones, and I have to say, I think I've found a favourite new ball.

Played my round yesterday with the same ball and it was great from tee to green. The only negative is that the cover is very soft and was pretty badly cut up by the end of the round.

Just a shame I won't be able to get any more once these have run out, since you can't buy them in shops :(

Not tried the Penta balls so I can't comment too much. I have heard they are a good ball off one or two people I k ow who use them. :)

I started using the Pro V1x's instead of the Pro V1's this year and I think they're great. Great feel and solid off the tee and good around the greens.

Have used the same Penta for the last 3 rounds and still looks brand new. You taking a knife to yours?

These are made up slightly differently to the standard "shop" bought ones I think. Potentially has a softer cover. Not sure of the full in's and outs

Don't like the Penta. Feels dead off the driver and spongy off the putter. I bought a dozen and ended up giving the 10 I had left away. I much prefer the Pro V or the Z Star as my ball of choice. The best ball TM ever did was the TP black and red about three years ago. They weren't around for long which was a shame and you can't pick them up anywhere anymore.

Possibly a diff construction but I'd hope even as a freebie to get more than 18 holes out a ball.
