I've been offered the above club by a friend (who's a Pro). It's his old driver as he now uses Ping equipment. The shaft is an upgrade, not a "made for". I tried it today, but it was a pointless exercise really as the wind was ridiculously strong, and right into the face. It felt great but there was no way of gauging distance or spin. Does anyone have any experience of this shaft/head combo? and is there a clubhead speed range that it is specified for?

Thanks in advance
Danny..

surely your pro would be able to answer this? however a quick google seems to indicate its for a strong aggressive swing, smooth swingers beware.

No doubt Ethan will know exactly what its for.

He isn't a teaching Pro, more of a wannabe tour pro .. I wouldn't class myself as a strong aggressive swinger, but it did feel great this morning, even if I could only get it out to the 200yd marker due to the wind.. I'm just a bit concerned that it may be a bit much for me. The last time I had my speed measured, it was approx 103mph, but that was last year when I had only just returned to the game. It could be faster or slower now.. I've arranged to try it again this week when the wind disappears so I can get a better appreciation for it.. If it doesn't work for me then i'll stick to my original plan and try the I20, G20 and 910D2...

How's you're driver search progressing?

I think I'm there bluewolf, after months of all the new heads, loads of shafts, numerous shaft fitters and nothing feeling comfortable, I pick up a friends reg shafted burner at the range for a laugh and proceeded to cream it!
It was 13* and too high so found a 9.5* one last night, got it regripped so will find out this weekend if it's going in the bag. The weight, swing weight and torque all seem a fit but that's after it just 'feeling' right, you know what I mean?

Is that the Burner 09 driver? I played with my 60yr old Uncle yesterday who had a reg shafted burner driver. He proceeded to match me for distance, and muller me on accuracy all day. The ball flight was ridiculous, like the worlds tallest rainbow, but the thing travelled like nothing i've seen. Strangely, when he took his R11 3 wood out of his bag, the flight was more like a Driver, but without the distance..

The F1 is a pretty stout shaft. It comes in various weights, and the heavier the shaft the more swing speed you need to make it work. The 65g is a commonly used flex for driver. Your pro friend could have a heavier weight, or have his tipped for extra stiffness, but assuming it is standard fitting, then at 103mph, I think you could make a stiff flex work if you have a decent tempo, but you might find it a bit 'boardy', i.e. harsh feeling.

no the 2010 superfast burner, its light and 4.5 torque and it does go high, which is ideal in wet soft conditions like we constantly have in Scotland, fingers crossed it works on the course as well as the range

I have a motore f1 in stiff, 75 gram. It's a nice shaft, but possibly a bit heavy for me. Swing speed less than 100 mph. I prefer my ahina 72 gram. I like a bit of weight in my driver.

You do realise the current weather apttern is both UK wide, and not the norm right? Or are you simple?

Cheers for the responses guys. Going to try it on Sunday and compare it to a 910 with a kai'li stiff shaft as I know that this shaft suits me. That's if we all haven't floated away by then.
