I'm for this technique but definitely not 'tight' grip. Simply same as putting one - 'neutral'.

soft , firm , death grip - it makes next to no difference on these chip and run shots.

Of course it does; your arms won't move as freely with a tense grip.

your arms have to move about two feet. you could do that rigid as a board.

luke plays the sweeping motion. i think there is a lot less margin for error when playing this type of shot. if you dont use the bounce correctly then you are looking at a bladed ankle breaker flying across the green.

Thanks for the help all, definitely needed after playing today!

Some interesting videos there and at least gives me something to work on rather than just practising the wrong thing (i.e. what I'm doing now....)
