The ones that leave rubbish everywhere they go, rip off pensioners with scam building work, steal anything they can sell on, terrorise locals that complain about them, don't pay tax, dont send their children to school. You know the everyday travelling ethnic minority group 🙄

Steady now or you will have an over zealous Mod deleting your post and calling you a RACIST!😤

Don't worry. Casual racism is allowed.
Casual racism ? Really - do you mind showing me

Here is the slavery stuff as proof of their actions in our local area

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Netwing

https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www....ith-modern-day-slavery-offences-1-7260879/amp

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-beds-bucks-herts-14871318

https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/amp..../2011/sep/11/leighton-buzzard-slaves-released

They are at the heart of the crime wave in the local town. But as soon as any complaints the immmediate response is “racism”

The fact is they are making people’s lives hell in the local area.

As for the actual “travelling” gypsys - well they just cause hell on the areas they land - local council has spent £500k this year alone of our council tax cleaning up after them , they broke into a park recently , assaulted a young girl in the local shop , left a children’s park destroy , covered in dog and human faeces meaning the local park was closed for a week

So yep I’ll lump their actions together based on their actions here

The word “racist” is completely meaningless now, it has no power since it has been overused by the left to condemn just about anything....Don’t like Scots? Racist! Criticise a certain peaceful religion. Racist! Want to limit immigration? Racist! Want to leave the EU? Racist! Want to close down the BBC? Racist! Want to fly your own countries flag in your own country? Racist! Like drinking beer? Racist! Don’t think Nadya is a great cook Racist!
Agree with Trump? Racist!
Support Help The Heroes? Racist!
Wear a poppy? Racist!

It’s tricky being a white man nowadays!

Hate to say it (and it costs) but make sure you have good reputable insurance. Get the best anti theft protection for homes/vehicles/lockups etc.

Crime ain't going away and some possessions are not worth dying or being seriously injured over or going to prison over. Protect your loved ones with whatever means of course but not replaceable 'stuff'. Lots of us talk the talk and think we could handle some crims like they do in the movies but we aren't trained or as young or fit as we used to be, crooks often operate in gangs, might be off their faces on stuff, they'll seek later retribution, they could target your family later etc - is it really worth it?

Re police there can never be enough, until we get the multitude of social problems of the UK addressed, there will always be too few.

I reported a minor work theft recently, I had secure camera stills of the perpetrators faces, loading their vehicle with nicked stuff and their registration but the police would not take an SD card from me, refused, just the number plate verbally. I was a bit flabbergasted. Excuse was it would have to be sent down to another dept in Glasgow. Have heard nothing since. Terrible attitude imo.

This sorry affair I'm happy to lay right at the feet of the thieving scrotes; don't nick the tools, they don't get chased. They are quite prepared to deprive honest working people of a living in order to fund their lifestyles. I can't condone ramming the scrotes but I understand it and have no sympathy for them.

As for blaming the Tories Phil, when did David Blunkett join the Tory Party? The rot was started when the PCSO's were deemed a suitable replacement for warranted officers.
Blunkett finished as home secretary 15 years ago. I think it's a bit harsh to attribute blame to him for 2019's policing issues.

I too have little sympathy for the thieves involved here though. Has anyone else seen those videos of police in London taking down moped criminals? I genuinely enjoy watching them as much as I do the Ryder Cup :D

Please re-read my post. The rot was started when the PCSO's were deemed a suitable replacement for warranted officers. By doing this Blunkett introduced another type of staff that could never be removed and diluted the efficiency more than any change I ever knew. I'm not attributing all of 2019's issues to him, but I am stating that he was responsible for the worst change I ever saw during my service, and the issues from that continue today in my opinion.

Put some blame on the people that buy the stolen tools/goods , they must know they're stolen at the price offered.
Probably buying their own tool back in some cases.
But if it was really travellers they're difficult to trace identify and deal with .

I read your post and I never said you attributed all blame, but you clearly attribute some to Blunkett. I think that is unfair and it misses put the real people who are almost entirely responsible. And when it comes to an individual, a more recent home secretary who then went on to be PM, should be under the spotlight here.

In fact, a quick google finds this article, with the following snippet: The debate comes as a survey for the organisation suggested 33 out of the 43 English and Welsh forces had scrapped, reduced or merged their neighbourhood policing teams since 2010.

That is exactly what the thread starter mentioned.

Sure. But criminals will always be around and whilst governments can try to prevent the number of offenders, they will always be there. That's why you need a decent police force and rehabilitation service.

Thank you for the Google reference. Having served for 30 years and worked through the “Blunkett efect”, I know where I’ll place the start of the downfall.

May caused other issues but the start of the staffing problem started on Blunkett’s watch as far as I’m concerned.
