Been struggling a bit this year. Peaked early, and have lost any semblance of a swing since. Llittle golf, and less practice compared to usual. However, found some thing on thursday, which has helped a lot, and Friday and Saturday my ball striking was as good as it has ever been.

Got home from golf yesterday, put the rugby on, and woke up four hours later. Got up this morning, and my neck and back totally stuffed. Not good. Played 18 holes, with a 1/2 swing, no power, and probably a bit stupid to play on, but don't like letting people down.

So, good thing is, I know how to strike the ball, bad news is, I can't do it.

Hopefully it will sort itself out, as I hate going to the physio, and have a busy weekend coming up next week. Timing, pah.

I'm so up and down at the moment too.
Moments of sheer quality followed by minutes of despair.
One moment theirons are razor sharp, smooth swing and accurate, the next I'm swiping at it like an octopus trying to swat a fly....

We know it'll come back soon....

I'm exactly the same right now.

Just can't find any consistency in any part of my game.

I've managed to break 80 twice now this year, but then I'll have days struggling to keep it under 100.

and it's driving me nuts

Last year I was Mr consistent, this year I'll stand there and not have a clue shot to shot where the hell it's going to go. :(

If it makes ya feel any better, I went from shanking everything Thursday at the range to a 34 point round in the thunder at a flooded addington yesterday. If I can hold onto yesterdays swing fir camberley and blackmoor I'll be chuffed.

Your not alone Murph.
Iv been like that for a while and then all of a sudden a change in my address position shifting my weight onto what i thought was my heels must in actual fact be centred and it has me drawing the ball instead of fading it :D

I spent and hour and a bit on the range yesterday and was hitting it nice and sweet...Nice comfortable swings but did that carry over into this morning.....OOOOOOOOH NNNOOOOOOOOOO....
I think i hit every conceivable shape of shot under the sun today ...

Im blaming staying up late last night watching Rory :D :D :D

Still searching for my swing before the Volvo on Thursday, Camberley on Sunday and Blackmoor on Monday. As there wasn't a lot on today took a mooch out to find Blackmoor. Seen the first and a few other holes from the front of the clubhouse. Oh dear. Off to AG to stock up on ammo

I'd get plenty Homer.
I hate to say it but the holes that you can see from the clubhouse are the easy ones. Birdie opportunites galore.
From the 2nd to the 17th they used it for filming the series "The Pacific"

Smiffy you are joking right?? With the exception of the Heather it doesn't look overly tight and the trees don't seem as dense. I'd expect to lose more around Tilgate, or have I missed something?

Correct.

You've missed something.

:D

Richard can't play to his handicap around there and he's been a member for over 70 years.

It looks a technical course don't get me wrong, for example the shape of the greens and the undulations, but not in a way I'd expect to lose boxes of balls ..........

Saw two guys play off what I presume was the 10th at the top of the hill by the car park and both reloaded. Hmmm. Still Smiffy has a golfers nose for lost balls (maybe his years of practice searching in the trees for his own) so I'm hoping he'll find some of my donations to the Blackmoor heather. Not expecting too much golfing wise but the atmosphere in our group and in general is shaping up to be a grand day out

Don't worry Martin, the 10th is the only difficult driving hole, with out of bounds right, and jungle left. Easily the hardest hole on the course. The rest are wide open, and it's almost impossible to miss the fairways. :D

I started my only 36 hole competition on the 10th, and holed a lovely putt for a nine. :(
