Morning all, my previous post seems to have disappeared!

I'm having issues in my golf swing where I tend to come through like a cricket shot instead of doing the proper release. I've had some lessons and my pro showed me how i should be releasing but I've done it for so long without I tend to go back to cricket shots even though my mid says not to..

Does anyone know any good aids that can help me get used to the release..?

Cheers, Philly, :cool:

There's no such thing as a release... it's an extension through the ball after impact, so no aids are required.

Pick up a cricket bat and swing it only with your left arm... bingo!

I saw an article in a magazine recently where the pro was demonstrating how to shape the ball.

He stood in a normal stance with a full bucket of range balls in his hands and simulated following through to waist level.

Assuming a right handed player;

if the balls fall out of the right hand side of the bucket you have released the club late and the ball will fade.

if the balls fall out of the left hand side of the bucket you have released the club early and the ball will draw.

It may work for you, it may not......but it's a hell of lot better than a plastic gimmick
